First visit to Mekong this weekend - it was a Saturday night and the place was busy - we should have made a reservation. Turned out okay as we just waited about 10 minutes and then were seated upstairs. The upstairs is great! We didn't know what to expect so ordered a couple of appetizers (curry beef egg roll -new on the menu apparently) and shrimp dumpling, and then some mains (crisp beef, scallops and broccoli and duck). WOW. Were we impressed. The egg roll was shaped like a triangle and super tasty. Shrimp dumpling was perfect. The crispy beef was outstanding. The taste was excellent and it really was crispy on the outside. Never had better. The scallops and broccoli and duck were also fab. We opted to bring our own wine and paid the corkage fee. Our waiter was excellent. We'd go back - its the best Chinese food we've had in Ottawa!
