The management of this property does not function well under pressure.
There was a street festival in Manotick last evening, and the owner of the restaurant for his untrained staff to accommodate. While most of the young people, who had never really worked at this property before were trying their best, were clearly untrained, and were simply thrown into the 'deep end of the pool.
When we were ushered inside to get a table, the young lady who said we could be seated inside, disappeared. After several minutes the owner, who was more concerned that his designer sunglasses, be properly positioned on the outside breast pocket of his jacket, pointed to the back room of the restaurant, and told us to seat ourselves.
After finding a table, it took 20 minutes for a server to come to our table to present menus. When the meals arrived one of the appetizers was delivered after the main course had been served. My meal, the (so called) spaghetti with meat sauce and a meat ball arrived sans the meat ball and with a meat suace that was not much better than a can of Walmart tomato soup.
At no time during our meal did the manager come and ask if we were enjoying our meals.
The young lady who was serving us, albeit untrained, had a wonderful personality, but was clearly overwhelmed. As we left the manager was at the entrance and did not even thank us for our patronage. It may be that he believes that he is a living legend, but the truth is that this legendary status is only in his own mind.
This was our second visit within the current month. It is highly unlikely that we will be back again.
