Ottawa's restaurants, particularly around Parliament Hill, can be pricey. Probably all the lobbyists and senior government administrators on a higher budget than I know I earn. D'Arcy McGee's is right by the Centopath and the Langevin Block, offices of the Prime Minister. Maybe there is a workday menu that is pricier, but I found it more reasonable than most other places. The crowd was varied, and it didn't seem to seek the powerful or pretend any particular airs - it was just a comfortable Irish pub. Unlike most restaurants in its area, it was actually still open when the politicians and civil servants weren't nearby, which was not the case for most other businesses around Parliament.
It is part of a chain that also has a local location, and they are similar in menus and pricing. One of those places where you know that you will like the meal and not feel out of place without a suit and $200 haircut.
