Beckta is a great place not only to eat but for the art they display. Easy parking underground and then beautiful combination of old and new entrance to restauart. Both times I have been have not been disappointed.

We have been going to Beckta for many years since it opened on Nepean St, and decided to celebrate our anniversary there this year. It was a tough choice, but we selected the chef's tasting menu along with the wine pairing. Though at first brush it seems pricey, the cost is well worth it. The variety on the menu is surpassed only by the preparation and presentation of each dish. Between the two of us we managed to have all the dishes, with the exception of dessert where we both went for the chocolate. The wine pairings were imaginative and as we commented to ourselves, there is now way we could have chosen one or even two bottles of wine to match with the variety of dishes. The wait staff were all professional, knowledgeable of the preparation of each dish and also the wines that accompanied as well. A delightful evening and a wonderful memory for our anniversary.

Visiting from Denmark we where very surprised over the friendly atmosphere already at the entrance and during the whole meal. The food and wine was excellent especially the Beckta sparkling wine. Dine and wine at Beckta is must when live in or visiting Ottawa.

Excellent food and service, in a beautiful old building setting, in downtown Ottawa. Flat rate ($5) indoor parking in the evening.
Menu offers a large variety of dishes and wines. Quiet armospere and very professional staff.

My wife invited friends to celebrate my 76th BD. Everyone but I enjoyed the evening... I did not like the choice of the main course. Story repeated to all our friends. In July to celebrate her BD, I invited another couple to... You guessed it, at Beckta to her big surprised. It was a great evening; the service, the table by the window as requested, the wine and the food was first class. Now I know why my wife was so disappointed... She invited me for my BD and paid a little over $600 and I was not too keen. It was an expensive evening but well worth it. The wine was over $100 but again, it's a great restaurant so everything is pricey. My wife is worth a whole lot more than that!!! It was a great evening!
