I have been in hospitality for over 20yrs and at front desk for 3 and housekeeping for 3, so I know....the parking was very confusing however, the front desk staff were fantastic answering all my annoying questions with respect and friendliness despite being asked those same questions one hundred times a day. The location is fantastic. The room was modern and beautiful and CLEAN! I will definintely recommend this property to my guests or friends and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: king room in the corner

The hotel has a great location, only 5 min walk to the Parliament Hill and 15 mins to Byward market. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you are lucky, you can actually find a parking across on the street. Room is very clean and I like the spacious shower. However, travelling with a baby meaning we are really cramped in a double queen room, very small desk and TV is right in front of the beds, no room for stroller.

We also tried the restaurant, surprisingly good, must try!

This is a great little hotel located a few blocks from just about everything.
Rooms , at least the one we stayed in was small but very nice and clean.
Restaurant on site was pretty decent.
Parking onsite is a bit of a puzzle. Hotel has shared parking which requires you to have to go through a differnt hotel to get to this one. I found this weird but not a big deal as long as you are not going to your car a lot.
Hotel staff were very polite and helpful.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at the Indigo in Ottawa several times, and not once have we been disappointed in anything.

First off, the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly, always taking that extra step to ensure their guests have everything they need or need to know. The location is ideal, situated as they are in the heart of downtown and metres from Parliament Hill and the canal, and the hotel's interior is equally lovely. (I have a fear of heights and find myself a little bit giddy staying on an upper floor and looking out through the glass panels, down and down.) The blue is a nice touch, too, and the lobby is open and airy.

The rooms are terrific -- spacious, spotless, comfortable, all the amenities conveniently placed, with cozy beds and plenty of closet and cupboard space in which to stash your belongings. Add to this the proximity to restaurants, a swimming pool, parking and reasonable prices and what more could you possibly want?

Pros:
- The front desk was nice and tried to upgrade us when they saw that it was my wife's birthday
- Our room was spotless, it was one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at
- Mattresses were comfortable and brand new, made in April 2013
- The room had a large flat screen TV.
- Fast and reliable Wi-Fi included
- 5 minute walk to parliament
- 15 minute walk to the ByWard Market

Cons:
None

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

We checked in at 12.45 PM and they had a room available, that was the great thing. Room was ok but nothing fancy, nothing compared to other hotelchains within the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Bathroom was tiny! I could barely turn around in it and I had to close the door to enter the shower. Front desk employees were not the most friendly staff I met in the past few years (see my other reviews). Location is good, close to parliament hill and byward market. Lots of dining options ithe neighbourhood. Because it was weekend street parking was free (front desk didn't tell me, I read it on tripadvisor from several other guests). Weekday parking is $21 a day.

There is nothing negative I could ever say about this spot. Excellent staff, excellent location to all of Ottawa's major locations, and rooms that are immaculate. The parking staff were excellent, and I can only imagine how hard it is being out on the street each night. Hotel Indigo Ottawa knows how to do it right, and they are doing just that. I will be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a King upon check-in. Most hotels are not sold out upon check-in so push them a little.
