“Well located, quite cheap and clean !”
Reviewed February 8, 2009

I paid ~90$ / night (taxes included) for a single room, a complete bathroom and a breakfast. The room was cleaned every day and there is someone at the desk 24/7. The breakfast was basic but unlimited. The parliament hill, the museums, the Rideau Canal are at less than 10 mn by foot. To summarize: it's simple hotel, very well located for a reasonable price!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, very good for the budget conscious. We found the location very good, only a couple of minutes walk to the Byward Market with all the pubs and restaurants, quite handy as it was exceptionally cold the weekend we were there!
The breakfast was a very passable continental style and although the room was a little small it was perfectly comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and were quite happy to watch our suitcases after we had checked out so we could visit the art gallery before heading for home.

This is a great place for a great price - within walking distance to major attractions, and a great part of town with tons of restaurants and nightlife. Beautiful and clean room with hardwood floors and an outdoor patio. More charming than a typical hotel and the staff was pleasant and attentive. I would recommend this inn to anyone.

We stayed here for 3 nights and thought it was a good little hotel. The room was a good size, comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent, quick walking distance to all the restaurants, bars and shops in the Byward Market area and only about 10 minutes from Parliament Hill etc. Breakfast was fairly basic but ok for the price of the room.

The only negative during our stay was the fire alarm going off at 3am - not a problem in it's self but the fact that the guy on the front desk was completely clueless was quite worrying. He just sort of sat there while a guest nursing a can of lager started fiddling with the alarm panel and calling 911. Some training issues there perhaps?!

Overall a good choice for the money and I would recommend it if you are not after anything fancy.

We stayed 3 nights in October. Had a room with micro, coffee maker and fridge. Clean, simple and everything functioned. Small confusion at breakfast. They seem to need a checklist of what they should have in the breakfast room for the number of guests in the Inn. It would save a lot of travel back and forth for pepper, water, juice and milk when the breakfast area is moved to the 3rd floor.
Front desk was friendly. I would stay again and recommend it to friends who wanted this class of accommodation.

Great location in the middle of the action in Ottawa. We stayed during the first Friday that university was back in, so that night was noisy - people up and down the street, yelling, etc into the wee hours...which wouldn't have been a problem but for the plexi-glass insert in the large window (to accommodate the air conditioner) which was held in place with packing tape - not really soundproof! Would have liked some curtains on the window as well, as the horizontal blinds didn't do much for privacy or to keep the light out. Other than that, the place was clean, spacious and the front desk service was great. Continental breakfast was so-so. We hit the market for fresh fruit on our way out each day. Laundromat about a block away, great restaurants, pubs and easy access to buses and sites.

This hotel is perfect if you are on a budget, but want to be in the center of the action. It's right in Byward Market, which is great for restaurants and bars. It's a 10-minute walk (or less) to Parliament Hill and the like, so it's perfect for location, esp. for a weekend visitor. The room was very utilitarian; no frills for sure. But it was clean, had a kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, dishes, cups and plates which was helpful. It was a tad sterile, but great for the price.
