“Really cool find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2014

What a fun little place. Really different with great food. Nice little back patio and great art. Fried chicken is delicious and the little side dishes make an interesting meal, especially the corn bread.

“Southern food, eclectic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

Excellent menu! Best devilled eggs imaginable. Southern Fried chicken is done sous vide for four hours, then flash fried. Flank steak good. Cornbread awesome. Potato and mushroom salad a bit disappointing. Wonderful cocktails. Excellent restaurant.

“The "speak-easy" is in the basement.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

Fun, trendy, different and lively. Downstairs - through an enclosure - you will find a kind of speak-easy, that reminds me of a Northern European bomb-shelter during VWII with rough planks as walls and ceiling and storm lights to complete the atmosphere. We were there only for drinks. Upstairs, however, there is no scotch whisky on the menu - but a huge selection of bourbon and rye. Downstairs, however, there is offered a great selection of quite unusual scotch whiskies. and you will find an interesting variety of craft beers both upstairs and downstairs. Very enjoyable.

“Hip and homey”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014

A group of five of us sat in the booth at the front of this smallish restaurant. Great spot. We ordered appetizers and 'side plates' to share, while each choosing our own main course. Everything was excellent, inventive, well made, lovely presentation, and yet comfortable feel-good food and atmosphere. I had a vegetarian dish made with squash and quinoa that tasted great. Others had fish, chicken. They make their own sodas and have a large cocktail selection, which are served in mason jars. Creative décor, very attentive staff. A+++

“Amazing Southern Comfort Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

We made a reservation on a Sunday evening for dinner. We had a table for 2 so we didn't experience the communal seating union is known for. The restaurant is a trendy spot but has some old school charm. Loved the dim lighting.. Made it perfect for a date. Our server was sweet which made the evening even better. I started off with the reverse sucker punch. It's listed on the menu as "special... Yes you are". Definitely recommend! They gave us some boiled peanuts to start. They didn't look appetizing but when we cracked one open it tasted like salted soy beans! Nice surprise. I got the fried chicken with a side of corn bread. I cannot emphasize how crucial it is that you try this amazing creation! Melt in your mouth goodness! My hubby got the steak with cheesy grits. Amazing all around! We ended our meal with the un-birthday cake. Delicious but it's a very sweet treat.. I'd recommend sharing it. Overall it was an amazing experience. Kinda pricey but the quality and taste of the food made it completely worth while.
