We loved this museum. It is very child friendly, and isn't too big to overwhelm. It was a pleasant surprise for us! I would recommend anyone with children visit this museum. It is educational, interactive and fun!

A great place to view exhibits related to nature as it is in Canada.
A great place for adults and kids alike.

This museum is very well designed to please even very young children, with tons of hands-on activities geared towards kids. However, as adults with an interest in nature, we had a most enjoyable visit. The exhibits are modern and attractive, with information presented at different levels of comprehension so that even visitors like us with degrees in the field can learn something new and interesting.

The artistry of the dioramas in the prehistoric galleries is simply breathtaking. In the bird gallery, the specimens are presented in lifelike poses and arranged by themes to engage the visitor in making comparisons. Sadly, we didn't have time to visit all the floors; bank on at least 2 hours to see everything without rushing.

What a great place, lots of interesting things. The only negative thing was the $12 fee we had to pay to park for a couple of hours.

The building itself is spectacular, the displays interesting and interactive, but the noise level is distracting, especially in the geology section. We went without children and enjoyed ourselves but I think this museum is especially good for young children. They offer a membership for daycares so be prepared for lots of little ones running around in the mornings. While in Canada a breastfeeding mother may nurse anywhere she's allowed to be, but if your baby is at that distractable stage (and there are lots of distractions here!) the nursing room by the cafeteria is quite lovely. We expected the cafeteria food to be expensive (it was) but the parking was quite steep ($12). The grounds are quite lovely for a picnic though -- in fact the exterior was the highlight of our visit.
