We recently stayed in Ottawa for some family fun and on a whim we decided to visit the Billings Estate for the Easter activities. IT WAS AWESOME !!!!! Our 6 kids had so much fun hunting for Bunny Bucks, dying eggs, having their faces painted and making bunny baskets. It was really good value for money (16.75$ for the entire family), the people really friendly, helpful and nice. The estate itself is beautiful, was nice having a look around.
I would happily go back year after year!

What a wonderful afternoon having tea in the garden at Billings Estate. This is a once a year event, it is fun as we all dress up, wear our hats and our fascinators. The tent is set-up with round tables covered with linen tablecloths and plates and china teacups. I like that the cups and saucers do not match, I do not drink my tea out of a teacup at home but here it is only fitting. There is a choice of at least 8 different teas, everyone gets their own teapot. Finger sandwiches, scones and desserts are brought out in lovely 3 tiered plates, there is more than enough for each person. The gardens on the estate are lovely. If you are lucky you will see a bride and groom at their outdoor wedding. After tea we explored the grounds and ended up in the cemetery on the grounds. It is a lovely spot and having the experience of a high tea is worthwhile.

Sounds like you had a great visit @Colleen685 - maybe worth visiting more than once a year? Keep us in mind for Christmas Tea come December!

Attended an outdoor wedding here.
The grounds are beautiful. They serve high tea. Probably would not have come here if not for the wedding as there are so many other things to see and do in Ottawa.

Loved it and will go back. We went on a rainy day so we couldn't appreciate the grounds fully. Also we want to experience the tea service. But let me tell you this house is special. The history is so palpable you almost fell as if you are trespassing...you must take the guided tour to have a better understanding of this family. Also any question is well answered. I dare you to look in the eyes of the family members portraits and not feel a shiver down your spine. Feel like they never left and at any time one will comme by the corner of a door...or through a wall! Enjoy! We will be back for tea and a walk on the grounds and perhaps see the other structures better.

We're happy to hear you had a such a great time at the site, even if you weren't able to see and do everything on offer. We look forward to having you back for tea!

We attended a wedding here this past weekend and it was simply beautiful. The surroundings could not have been more perfect. I wish I could have been married outside in this beautiful historic area. Everything was so carefree and easy, even the parking. Loved it!
