The hotel rooms are great that have all you need, and feels like small suite
Few times I have stayed I was on business and did not mind that it was miles away from town and shops
I have stayed there also when local ice hokey game is on, can't get room service, order or get takeaway will be quicker

The food found to be OK, breakfast is great
Go through items on bill found iteams which had nothing to do with me, staff are nice
Not always easy to get taxi if your not waiting at door some one else will take it, could miss you flight

The BAD: After reading the reviews for this hotel we decided to come check it out for the weekend. On one of the the responses from Brookstree Management the "B Indulged" package was offered as a way not to be nickled and dimed for every extra charge that gets added to your room (internet, parking). This package would be excellent if it was actually available.

Upon checkin we were told that there were no rooms available for this package - when i enquired why, i was told that there are only a limited number of those rooms available and once they are sold out well too bad. This seemed really odd since the hotel was practically empty the entire weekend?

But they did manage to "upgrade" me to a superior room for 40$ per night, so i could get free parking and internet. Its not free if you need to upgrade right?, ....we were quite disappointed in the price but we were already all the way out in Kanata so it was too late to go back downtown or to gatineau.

the hotel is spotless as previous guests have stated. The rooms were not as clean, a lot of glass rings from juice or something sticky on the counters and end tables.

Also you need to call room service for ice - there is none available. this is a pain.

the internet only worked half of the time.

THE GOOD:
The bed is absolutely fabulous - like sleeping on a cloud!, the linens are amazing. That was the highlight of the stay.

The gym is excellent, great equipment.
So we prob will come again (for the beds)if we can actually book and confirm the B Indulge package before arrival.

Room Tip: Unload your luggage in the lobby, otherwise you need to put your luggage in garage elevator, then transfer to hotel elevator.

Dear Jessie_Nessi

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad that overall you enjoyed your stay with us. Our B indulged packages are available every weekend, but there are a limited number available so, you are right, it is best to book them in advance to make sure you are not disappointed. I have passed your feedback on to our operations team regarding the internet and room cleanliness. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness at Brookstreet and this is something we will be looking into. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope that we can welcome you again soon.

My daughter was in Ottawa for business, so I went along with her. Was a bit concerned about how far away from City Center the hotel was, but my concerns soon disappeared as we entered this upscale spa type hotel. Our first stop was our room, which was very tastefully decorated and spacious. Everything you need was supplied. We went down for a late lunch in the restaurant. Both of us are glutten free and we had no trouble finding something good to eat. The salads are perfect and the portions just right. We used the sauna and gym. We did not use the pool. Both the sauna and gym had new equipment and wasn't crowded. In the evening, we enjoyed the jazz with our dinner. Fine dining once again with great background music. Each night there is a different jazz band and a "special" cocktail. In the morning a quick breakfast and a great cup of coffee at the shop in the lobby area. Once again we had no issues getting glutten free.
Our only concern with the hotel, was the walk to the gym and spa. We like to go down in our workout clothing and felt that walking through the hotel where there are conventions, etc. was a bit unnerving. There are change rooms available in the spa/pool area.
All in all a great stay and would not hesitate to book into this hotel again.

The location of this hotel sucks. If it were in a better location it would be perfect. It's absolutely beautiful. However if you're in town for something at scotia bank place than this is a great location if you have a car. 10 mins from scotia bank place

Dear tlang 5

Thank you for your review, yes we are perfectly located for Scotiabank Place and many of our guests choose Brookstreet to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city center and take advantage of our golf course, full service spa and pools. Thank you again and we hope we can welcome you back to Brookstreet soon.

My wife and I chose to get out of town for the weekend. We always choose Brookstreet hotel as our weekend getaway! The pool is clean and great to swim in until late at night. The junior suite is our favorite, it makes us feel like we rented a condo. The only negative comment is that Wifi should be free to guests, however staff are super friendly.

Room Tip: Junior suite is worth the small upgrade price.
