We found an excellent deal on Expedia for the Business Inn and stayed here for three nights - May 31 to June 3, 2013. We booked a VIP Suite with a bedroom. The suite was excellent - clean and extremely spacious. It was so much like an apartment we actually felt like we were breaking and entering LOL. The suite contained a full kitchen (where we cooked several dinners), dining area, living area, and bedroom. The refrigerator was full size and worked perfectly for storing all of our booze ;) The hotel even included a desktop computer with a printer. The internet connection and FREE wifi were speedy fast - we had a very strong signal on all of our iDevices :)
The free breakfast was excellent - consisting of Egg McMuffin sandwiches (mmmm.... bacon), hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, muffins, fruit, coffee, tea, etc. We also used the laundry - which was free - to clean our clothes before heading home. The hotel supplies soap for the washers. I was truly amazed how many amenities were included. Our daughter eats like a starving pig so the breakfast saved the three of us quite a bit of $$$. It was an excellent way to start our day and we were all full until dinner time.
Parking cost $15 per day - would be nice if parking was free but most hotels charge these days. We parked outdoors and never had a problem with security. The lot is a little narrow so be careful getting in and out!
The only suggestions I have (which are quite lame) is PLEASE brew some fresh decaffeinated coffee for breakfast (and have some decaf coffee in the hotel suites other than instant packets). The hotel only provides instant SANKA with REALLY SUCKS!!! Please also stock more potato patties for breakfast (they ran out before we arrived at 9:30am), and finally -- replace the curtains in the bedroom with full size sun blocking curtains. The short curtains don't stretch the entire width of the window and sunlight entered the room from the top, sides and bottom. I woke up at 6am every morning trying desperately to bury my eyes in a pillow. :(
Overall, we were extremely impressed with this hotel and would definitely stay here if we go to Ottawa again. Unfortunately, we lived in Ottawa for 13 years and only go when we need to meet with friends or family. (The truth is that we really hate Ottawa) LOL -- thanks to The Business Inn, we really enjoyed our stay.
TIP: we had a suite on the top floor of the hotel - 1206 - overlooking Elgin street. The opposite side of the building overlooks the parking lot and is not nearly as entertaining. Elgin street can get loud on the weekends but you are generally OK if you are up high and windows are closed to enjoy the A/C. It is also fun sitting out on the balcony on weekends to watch the drunks and all of the couples coming out of the bars arguing LOL.
