Finally made it here after passing the place for over a year on my way home from work...I watched them getting the place ready and opening into what I thought was a studiously hipster cafe. After forgetting about Pressed for a while, my husband saw it on "You Gotta Eat Here" and we decided that we should try the waffle brunch.
I had the Natasha - Whalesbone smoked trout and poached eggs on a fluffy-yet-crispy waffle and smothered in a lemony hollandaise that managed to be decadent and light at the same time.
My husband went for the Hangover, basically a beef brisket poutine on a waffle. He wasn't hungover at all when we started eating, but he soon had a food hangover! A delicious delicious food hangover, with extra gravy.
He also went temporarily insane and ordered the sweet potato french fries and the potato salad as sides...both were fresh and delicious. The sweet potato french fries stayed amazingly crispy the whole time we were there, and I would have eaten more if I'd had a larger stomach capacity.
I didn't try any of their unique drinks, so hopefully we will be hungry again one day and can go back.
The decor was, as some of said, thrift store...and having grown up in a thrift store household, I would normally be extremely snobby about it. But we had no issues sitting on a comfy well-worn couch, it reminded me of the coffee shop in Friends.
