“FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD LIES THIS GEM”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

Far from the madding crowd lies this gem of a restaurant within a few minutes East of Ottawa. It is in the village of Moose Creek in a re-furbished church. Resplendent with the most magnificent chandelier, art exhibits, seats are original pews, and an owner/ host Paul who knows & delivers the meaning of hospitality. Menu offerings are varied week after week. The food is freshly prepared, delicious to the taste & a delight to behold. Presentation is artfully done. Service is personal and caring.
The perfect atmosphere/ ambiance for that special lunch with the girls or special night out.You will definitely want to return again soon to sample more of this varied menu.

I have gone several times and always came away impressed. I had the good fortune to dine a few times with a good friend who is a relative of the original founding members so was privy to a bit of history as well. Paul will also round out any gaps in this vein or answer questions. His pride in this wonderful locale shines through everything.
Although some do just drop in when in the area, it is always best to call ahead for reservations.
Enjoy every morsel & every sight......they are many.

“A memorable milestone birthday celebration”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

My family went to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday at the Knox - and what a memorable birthday it was!
All the food was delicious and carefully prepared. We all enjoyed our meal and nothing was left on the plates.
The atmosphere was hopping and the place quickly filled up but the night's highlight was that my mother was able to climb into the chandelier and get hoisted to the ceiling while everyone sang happy birthday.
I found the owners attentive and the service impeccable. What an amazing little addition to Moose Creek. I think this would also be a great spot for a romantic evening for two.

“New Years eve 2012”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

It was a cold and blustery night as we drove out to Moose Creek from Ottawa this last New Years eve, that is until we opened the front door of the restaurant which is housed in a former lovely little church and we were greeted by the owner Paul who was dressed for the occasion in a tux with tails, white gloves and a top hat, (he looked good) but that is not why you came to this site, it is because you wanted to know about the food and ambiance.

The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Many times we were asked if everything was to our satisfaction which it was and then some.

On Saturday night they have a Jazz combo which they had on New Years eve which added to the ambiance and our enjoyment.

If your looking for a place to celebrate that special occasion or just a place to bring that special friend then Knox Fine Dining is the place.

“Wedding Reception”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

We had our wedding reception at Knox on Saturday September 22. We couldn't have asked for a better night. Food was beyond excellent and service exceptional! Paul was extremely accomodating with the wedding decor and lined up a jazz band for us that had a varied repetoire from classy to rocking the dance floor. The ambiance and size of the restaurant provided the perfect atmosphere for intimacy and mingling of our 50 guests. Guests are still raving about the quality and presentation of the food! Service was professional and extremely attentive.

“Fine Dining in the Middle of Nowhere”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

This lovely restaurant is well worth the drive from Cornwall or Ottawa. We were fortunate enough to have dinner there and were very pleasantly surprised with the menu: not your usual fare - osso buco, rack of red deer, quail, sea bass, scallop ceviche to name a few of the items on the menu. The food was excellent, prepared very well and beautifully presented. There was a nice wine list; not lengthy but offered good choices of both red and white. The restaurant itself is within a former church, stained glass windows, and when you walk through the door you are greeted by the organ and a beautiful chandelier. The owner will be happy to tell you the history of the place and how it came to be a restaurant. It's a great story! Service was excellent in every way. Desserts were wonderful - we shared the creme brulee and walnut ice cream - yum! We were there on a Friday night but the owner was telling us that they have jazz nights on Saturday evenings so next time we will go for that.
