This restaurant has not much appeal from the outside, current road works don't help, but the food inside is excellent.
Habesha was recommended by our B&B "Avalon" just around the corned and thank you to them as we would have walked strait past it.
The food was amazing as we had never had this before in Australia. We ordered a platter base on our B&B suggestion, just fantastic and reasonable priced. The owner is a little quite but he and his wife run a great little restaurant, you may have to get his attention for an extra drink or even the bill but it is quite worth it. A good range of food options, try it once and you will be back.

As mentioned before there are no utensils, the injera or crape like bread is used to eat everything so hand wipes are nice if you are not a skilled scooper.

If you are not too sure about Ethiopian food the platter is a pretty good mix to start with. The flavours are almost spot on and the portions may seem small on a large platter but are very filling. They also sport a good selection of beer for such a simple establishment. While we were there I also noticed a steady demand for take-out orders.

It is a good thing the food is so tasty (we got a veg platter for two) because the atmosphere is lacking, service pleasant but minimal and slow and I was surprised how small the portions were. when the Veg platter for two arrived I thought it was just one of ours!

Suuuure is tasty though!

I adore this restaurant. It does not have much in the way of atmosphere, but the food is phenomenal. We have eaten here several times and always leave utterly stuffed and happy. Our last visit included a friend who has a tomato allergy and the lovely owner/server offered to adjust a dish for us to suit her needs. I recommend straying from the typical combo platter when you feel brave enough and trying some dishes from the main menu. Service can be a little slow, but your patience is rewarded by the delicious food.

The injera is fresh and plentiful and the dishes are extremely flavourful and well prepared. Also don't forget to eat the injera on the platter that has soaked up all the delicious sauce and flavours - it's a treat.

Really good traditional food, a very simple place to eat but excellent authentic quality and value. Pleasant and freindly staff
