Lunch sandwich and soup deal is superb--8 dollars for quality veggie food. Pot of tea for three dollars. Hit this place up if you want some quiet reading on a rainy day!

Went for afternoon tea and loved the large selection of tea at affordable prices.

Was cozy and sweet. My only gripe was that the ground level had no seats available and when we were directed upstairs we realised that the "seating" consisted of a landing with a couple chairs and a table stacked against the wall.

So we had to set up the table and unmount the chairs ourselves and spent a fair amount of our visit directing lost guests who were trying to fin the washrooms!

We dropped in here just after (a horrible lunch) and wished we'd known the cafe also offers a great vegetarian menu. The food others were eating looked delicious!

It's really a tea place - with shelves filled with varieties of it - but the coffee was very average.

Depending on your expectations, you might like or dislike Tea Party. It's not a fancy place. It's very casual. They have a wide selection of teas. We made a reservation for the afternoon tea because the Chateau Laurier was fully booked. For $12 per person at Tea Party you get a pot of tea of your choice, little sandwiches, a big warm scone with little pots of strawberry jam and cream, as well as little dessert squares and cookies. The amount of food you get for that price is incredible, and everything tasted good. The dessert squares were delicious. If you went for afternoon tea at the Chateau Laurier, you would pay around $32 per person. Of course you are paying for the ambience and the experience at the Chateau Laurier. You will not get fancy china at the Tea Party, but what you will get is a pretty good deal. It is probably a good idea to make a reservation if you want faster service.

We popped into The Tea Party on our way through Ottawa and were not dissapointed!. It was Halloween and the staff had dressed up as zombies (the charity Zombie Walkk was on that day)
We ate a spinach and cheese scone which was homemade and delicious and all the diners were obviously enjoying their food too. Good wholesome meals at a fair price.
