We stayed at Mcgees for two nights recently in room 11. The room was ok it was well priced but there was a crack on the window, old style airconditioning through window and the curtains fell off when we tried to close them. Nice breakfasts: crepes or eggs and sausage and fruit, a lovely sitting area and pleasant owners. We did not really like the area around the auberge and felt quite intimidated at night. Free parking. All in all it was fine for a couple of nights.

This inn has been bought this year by an extended family -- parents, son, and daughter-in-law. That means there is always someone available to take care of guests. It is located very conveniently and centrally but is on a quiet street. The rooms vary in size but are all nicely decorated; two have outside porches. Breakfast was muffins, bagels, juice and coffee or tea, very nicely served and with generous servings. We stayed last year at the Gasthaus Switzerland just a block away, which was also quite nice, but the Auberge is a better value at this year's prices.

Had a pleasant 2 day stay here in June. Hosts were very friendly and helpful- and had only been in charge for 3 weeks!. I think they have made a lot of changes already, with more planned.
We had the least expensive room at the top of the house which was comfortable with a lovely balcony and reasonable if old fashioned bathroom. We had a peek at several other rooms which were all much bigger and well furnished.
Breakfasts were a bit of a disappointment- fruit and juice, but only bagels to follow. It was however served in cut glass crystal and beautiful bone china plates!
The inn was a beautiful old house in the Sandy Hill area. However walking to the main areas of town involved going thro an area containing many tatoo and piercing parlours and 2 hostels for the homeless- ok during the day but a bit threatening at night
