“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

Location, location, location. The King Edward B & B has it ! It's a short walk to the many sites that tourists visiting Ottawa will want to see. Richard went above and beyond to provide information and directions to help us get the most enjoyment out of our stay. His dog Sunny is an excellent greeter. We stayed in the Tower room, which was lovely. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony overlooking his wonderful gardens. The entire house has been restored to it's original beauty and character. A real gem.

Room Tip: The Tower room is spacious and has a private bath and balcony.

My mother and I stayed at the Auberge King Edward while visiting my son in Ottawa. We were so pleased that we stayed here! Richard and Sunny are such gracious hosts. The house takes you back to 100 years ago, complete with all the furnishings, antiques and decoration from that era. It is so peaceful and comfortable.
Everything is top notch including our rooms, the delicious breakfast every morning and of course Richard's suggestions and information regarding what to see and do while in Ottawa. Richard went above and beyond, giving us a mini tour of the town and dropping us off at a museum. We were so impressed by his kindness.
You will be glad you stayed here. We will choose the Auberge King Edward for all of our visits. Thanks again Richard and Sunny.

When it comes to a B&B in Ottawa if you do not stay here then you've missed out on what we consider the best. Location is a plus as you can park your car and walk to most of the cities main sites of interest including the Parliament Buildings. Richard your host puts you at ease from the moment you walk and Sunny makes sure you get an important welcome as well. The home's rescue and restoration gives you the added feeling of living in an Ottawa of the Victorian and Edwardian era. We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Free parking and location a definite plus.

This is a nice B&B located a short, pleasant walk to all of the historic sites in Ottawa. The owner is very knowledgeable of the local area and makes his guests very welcome. On-site parking is free and we never used our car during our stay as it was not needed. Rooms are comforable and bathrooms are nice as well. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.

My sister and I took a trip to Ottawa when she came to visit me from England. Luckily and with the help of Trip Advisor we chose to stay at Auberge King Edward Bed and Breakfast. Richard was a warm and caring host, who gave us detailed instructions on the best places to visit in Ottawa, all of which were in walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyed in the dinning room, served at a time of our choosing. Sunny Richard's dog was very well behaved and friendly no wonder he is a hit with all the guests.
I would recommend this bed and breakfast if you are staying in the Ottawa area.

Having just spent three nights at this B&B, I have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to anyone visiting Ottawa. The host Richard is very helpful providing information on Ottawa and giving directions on how to get to places. His dog Sonny is a joy and any dog lover cannot help but fall for him. If you are not a dog lover, there is no issue as Sonny is so well behaved, he is never an issue. We stayed in the Green Room and found it to be very comfortable with fresh towels provided daily. Yes, we had to share a bathroom, but as we were there with friends, this was not an issue. The house is well over a hundred years old and furnished to suit the house - it is a delight - but note suitcases will need to be carried up the stairs - however, Richard did assist.

Breakfasts were great with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, croissants, muffins ( the berry ones were fantastic), eggs, juice and coffee - a great way to start the day.

The location is good, an easy walk to many attractions and restaurants (if the weather is kind).

Would I stay there again - yes, apart from the hosts, the opportunity to stay in a house of this age does not come up every day, so do yourself a favour and when in Ottawa -stay at this B&B.

Room Tip: If concerned about sharing a bathroom - book the Tower Room
