you can walk everywhere- host Richard will provide you with good ideas, maps as well as a hearty breakfast to send you off for the day- nicely restored Victorian home and a lot of attention to detail- definitely a place we would return to

Room Tip: room in the tower with bathroom was our favorite- lots of room to sit and relax-

We chose this B and B for its excellent location and informative website. Upon arrival we were fascinated by the Edwardian decor and very pleased with the ample space in our ensuite room. Richard immediately made us welcome and gave us all the necessary tourist information to make our stay most successful. Over the sumptuous breakfasts we had engaging chats both with our host and the other guests from around the world.

Room Tip: The Tower room is very spacious and has an ensuite bathroom, the other two do not.

It is very obvious that Richard loves his city! His advice and inside tips were extremely helpful! As soon as we arrived he was showing us locations on a map and finding out what we wanted to do. All of his tips were spot on (e,g, where to watch the light show etc). On the final morning Richard was kind enough to drop us off in town when we were running late!

The house itself is a beautiful restored house within easy walking distance on the main part of Ottawa. Breakfast was good without being fantastic - we did enjoy having the chance to chat with the other guests and Richard so it was by no means a bad experience but the food itself wasn't overly exciting. To be honest this B&B is possibly for people slightly older than us but that's more an observation than a criticism.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and we loved Ottawa. If you want a host with impeccable knowledge of Ottawa, Richard is your man.

The Auberge King Edward B&B is the ideal basis for a great time in Ottawa. Just parking the car in the backyard you can walk to all important and interesting destinations. King Edward is close to the university campus. It was fantastic to stay in this comfortable ambience of a Victorian style house. The breakfast is excellent and will keep you full energy for the day. Thanks Richard, he gave as so much valuable information where to go. We highly recommend this place.

We stayed at the King Edward in September 2012 and found it conveniently located to the centre of Ottawa being only ten minutes walk away. The B&B was very comfortable and has a relaxing ambiance and a very good breakfast. Richard is an accomplished host and has welcomed thousands of guests into the B&B which is his creation. The bedrooms are very comfortable and you are guaranteed a good nights sleep. An added bonus is Richard's extensive knowledge of what is worth visiting and once he understands your interests he will come up with suggestions which will enable you to get the most out of your visit and anywhere else you may be going. We would stay again and recommend the B&B to our friends.

Room Tip: There are three rooms all are good; one as en-suite facilities and the other two share a bathroom wh...

By far the best B&B during our 15 days' travelling from Niagara up to Tadoussac then back down to Quebec!!
We stayed 2 nights here in the prettiest city on the east coast and, with help from Richard, we were able to visit all the buildings etc on foot. It was great being able to park our "minivan" at the rear of the property for 2 days knowing it was safe.
Richard and Sunny are great hosts. The property is really pretty and characterful and the interior furnishings are beautiful! Lots of Tiffany lamps, plants and tasteful ornaments and framed pictures.
Our room was serviced daily with fresh, fluffy towels and flannels etc. We had a large wardrobe(something we had in only 1 other B&B), a fridge, bathrobe and a lovely balcony with table and chairs.

On arrival and departure Richard helped us with our cases (again, only 1 other B&B owner helped us with our cases!).

We have fond memories of The Kind Edward and our stay in Ottawa and would recommend it to anyone staying in this lovely city!!

Room Tip: All good!!
