The Supreme Court of Canada is a very impressive building both inside and out. It is located on Wellington Street, a few blocks west of the Parliament Buildings. Worth a look.

“Free, Fascinating, Informative”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2012

The free tours run all day in French and English, and take less than an hour. This a good chance to see inside a building that is both architecturally important and central to the justice system in Canada. You will see the grand foyer, Supreme Court chamber and one of the Federal Court chambers. Along the way you will get glimpses of areas that are not on the tour, and that is so frustrating because you just know they will also be very fascinating. But I suppose we can't expect the whole place to be open to tourists! Well worth a visit!

“by all means visit this place for it allows you to display intellectual traits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2012

Tours are well worth your time as a moment of taking a serious look at comparative governent. Do take the French language tour that is not too long. Ask questions and get things to read in that language. Team up with people with interests in doing justice to the discipline of comparative government while on vacation, Spend time talking with them afterwards. Perhaps next to the visit to the Parliament buildings the visit to the Supreme Court can bring out the best of intellectual characteristics that sometimes remain concealed during vacations. Let all our curiosity get the better of you and pursue information You can't become an intellectual while munching on chicken sandwiches at the Byward Market. So here is the right time to do your intellectual thing and show the other tourists that you do know something about this topic.Thirty three minutes discussing the relevant topics for knowing about comparative government can bring you enormous rewards especially if you show curiosity about the judicial systems This is where sun tan lotion means less. This is where frisbee championships mean less. Spend sometime discussing serious topics. Michelin should give your effort as least three stars for undertaking an important endeavor. Show the value of getting a univeristy degree to your fellow tourists. If you need a reason for justifying a college degree here it is!.Picture post cards mean so much less if you can carry away some substantial information about comparative government. Impress your fellow tourists by knowing something other than base ball and ice hockey scores. This is where your tuition money bears fruit. Harvest it for fun!

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

They have tours every hour in both English and French (make sure to check the schedule beforehand online or call). The tours are short, only about 30 minutes in length, however they are FREE! When our tour was over we took a short survey about the quality of the tour and upon completion, received a very nice book about the Supreme Court of Canada.

Unless you know what the outside looks like, it might be hard to identify or find as there is a lot of construction going on in front of it. It's very close to Parliament (5 minute walk).

“The high court”

Be sure to take the tour if you visit here. IT was interesting and allowed us to learn a great deal about the court system in our northern neighbor.
