“Nice place to take in fireworks on Canada Day”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

Also used to have shows during the summer period. Also nice place to just rest for a few moments and take in the sites of the Major Hill's park and Parliament buildings (don't forget your camera)

“Great lookout spot”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

During my trip to Ottawa I decided to visit Nepean Point and check out the view of Ottawa/Gatineau from the top of the hill. Its definitely a great vantage point. You have a fantastic, nearly 360 degree view of Parliament Hill, Chateau Laurier, and many other Ottawa landmarks. There’s also a large statue of Jacques Cartier at the top of the Nepean Point overlooking the Alexandra Bridge, which is worth a look. I walked up here during the evening and a had a chance to watch the sunset. Highly recommended way to close a long day of sightseeing in the capital.

“Nepean Point”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

From Nepean Point, you get a fabulous view over the Ottawa River of Quebec, particularly the beautiful Museum of Civilization. It is also a great place to view the fireworks on Parliament Hill on the 1st of July.

“Best view in Ottawa”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

Nepean point has the best view of the Ottawa River, Parliament, and the rest of Ottawa. It is worth walking up Sussex, past the National Gallery to have a look. You can visit Samuel de Champlain's statue there as well that was erected in 1915. It will be 400 years since he passed through here in 2013!

“Popular Venue with a View”
Reviewed June 16, 2012

There used to be an outdoor theatre here that has recently been torn down for much need renovation. There is a prominent view from ere of the Ottawa River, Parliament and Gatineau. The statue of Samuel de Champlain is notorious for holding aloft an astrolabe upside down.
