What a spectical. The guards are dressed in Red with their big black furry hats. They have a name but I don't remember. Anyway, one regiment marches up behind some bagpipers and stand on the parade ground and then the replacement regiment marches up and they replace one another. It was a very moving ceremony - took about 1/2 hour.

I like marching bands and military pomp but have seen nothing more surreal that a marching band parading to the "Final Countdown".

It doesn't get any more Canadian than this. Makes you proud to be a Canadian. Wonderful to see in the best place for it - Parliament Hill. A must for anyone visiting Ottawa...or if you live here and haven't seen it yet.

It was interesting to see, but also a bit boring if you aren't a history buff. It's something I'm glad I saw, but I wouldn't make the effort to go see it again.

It is a fun thing to see and it takes less than 10 minutes. Do not go if you've seen it somewhere else.
