“Great place for the little ones!”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

Fun place to be day or night!! Fees to get in, but they are reasonable. Even if your not into scary stuff, they still have hay rides, face painting, paintballing and many other things to do that aren't scary. You'll enjoy the candy apples and other goodies that they have to offer as well. A lot to do for young and old. You won't be disappointed! Have fun!!

“Central Experimental Farm”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

I know, I know - experimental farm? Not as bad as it sounds - trust me. Featuring a series of farm animals, beautiful gardens and yummy lunch treats this place makes for a beautiful day out. Heck there's even a pettin zoo! pigs, sheeps, horses, cows and more all around. And no, it doesn't smell like animals. Minus the cow arena where they display how cows are milked and from there how milk is processed and marketed. A great learning experience on top of lots of fun!

“A perfect place to stroll”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Well, if you love the beauty of well maintained gardens, greenhouses full of exotica, trees and foliage that will free your spirit from the city hustle then this is your place. Ride your bike, pack a picnic, bring a blanket and your camera and prepare to relax and enjoy nature's finest. The tulips in the spring are the finest you will ever see, the peonies and iris are breathtaking as are the roses and the daffodils. Don't forget the magnolias with their short blooming season. Whatever time of year you go you will be delighted. If you are a gardening maven this is the place to go and don't worry if the rest of the family isn't up to your speed as a gardener because there are so many things to see and so many places to stroll and play that there is something there for everyone. you can walk for 5 minutes or 5 hours. it is all dependent on how hook you are on nature and the beauty of our national Capital experimental farm. Take a few pics to remind you why you will want to return.

“Barnyard animals in the city”
Reviewed August 27, 2012

The farm itself is quite large but we decided to focus on the animal barns, given that we were there with a two year old. She absolutely loved the visit. Some of the larger animals can be a bit scary (they are imposing and quite huge in person compared to her story books!), but there were lots of smaller animals to appeal to shy kids. There is a barn full of milking cows, and one of the employees explained to us how the whole process works (an education for us as well). We also got to see lots of newborn calves, sheep, pigs, chickens and even a bunny named Oreo.
Our daughter had had enough of the animals after about an hour, so we took the large, shaded play structure for some running around. Next to it are conveniently placed picnic benches where you could have lunch or just a snack. Overall, a great place to visit and to get city kids to experience "the barn" in person.

“The Name Says It All....”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

If you get the opportunity you should go and see this three different times. Once in the spring when the spring bulbs are up. Second in July to see all the roses bloom. Third in the fall to see all the fall flowers. Too boot they have an area where they have planted their experimental plants......I must say that some of the are a bit odd looking.
