3 out of Out of 5 lights in the room are working and 2 are out of order causing not adequate light in the room. Wireless internet quality in poor like other hotels. Front desk and tech-support teams are helpless. Otherwise hotel is woth for this money. Staff is friendly.

Hotel was a good location, easy to find, lots of parking, good price, clean rooms, although they weren't consistently cleaned the same way. The biggest problem was that we could always hear people in the surrounding rooms, even when they were just talking and laughing late at night. That was a bit frustrating. Also, the continental breakfast was very basic - grocery store danishes, cereal and toast with two kinds of jam and canned fruit salad. No fresh fruit, or peanut butter, or anything healthy. I suppose it was ok for the money, but was no frills.

We went to meet our friends and visit some places in Ottawa. We Stayed in the lodge called Econo Lodge.

The lodge is very spacious, neat and have every basic facilities including cable and internet.

The lodge is cheap and they offer morning breakfast too. The lodge is situated very near to the Parliament Hill. Really must see this place.

This is a very basic Econo Lodge but for the price they're charging I'm not sure what people are expecting. The rooms are basic, but if your sightseeing you won't be in your room a lot anyways. A 15-20 minute walk to the Byward Market or Parliament, a bus ride would take about 5 minutes. The breakfast is very basic consisting of muffins, danishes, two cereals and fruit from a can. There are restaurants located across the street with a Cora's for breakfast and lunch a few blocks down. Also there is a Loblaws two blocks west with a 24 hour Metro a further two blocks along. No free pc to use but there is wireless internet access. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from Rideau St. Only problem I had was that the smoke alarm would go off when I had a shower. There was no fan in the bathroom. This was solved by turning the a/c fan.

Our room was facing Rideu St., so was very noisy, when entering the room we had to give door a kick to get it opened, as it always stuck, room had a musty smell or old smoke smell?, TV remote did not work, A/C had only 1 speed, bathroom sink drain very slow, paint very tired & dingy, carpets, old and very dirty.
Location was excellant to get to main areas on foot, a little dicey area wise though, staff very pleasent but non responsive to the list of complaints I handed them on check out day.
Parking & Brk included in price, Brk was nice for cont. style

Booking a hotel in this range, I wasn't expecting anything but basic accomodation, and that's exactly what I received. Free parking in downtown Ottawa was a great feature.

My room faced Rideau Street and I didn't actually hear any noise from outside at any time. The WiFI worked, and there were other unsecured networks available.

The free breakfast is just what you'd expect, not at all worth bothering with.

Check-in was great! I arrived two hours early, and went inside just to let them know I had a reservation and was leaving my car in their lot while I went sightseeing. She checked her system and gave me the key to a room that was ready!

So, decent accomodation, excellent location and service.
