Stayed for 1 night based on the recommendations on Tripadvisor and was not disappointed! The rooms were huge and the cleanest of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Lots of lovely towels, upscale amenities (Bath & Body Works), the absolutely friendliest maid service. Call housekeeping for any forgotten items free of charge!!! Kitchen was well appointed with coffee, tea and even cookies! Everything was immaculate. Dishes, cutlery, dish soap and scrubber all provided and nothing left out. It was definately more than what I needed but I felt comfy and cozy in the space. 3 phones, nice large desk and a balcony with patio furniture on demand.

Checkin and out was a breeze.....short wait but quick provisioning of the rooms well before checkin time.

Did not eat at the restaurant, but Southern Cross next door is way too expensive for what it serves for breakfast. Go elsewhere! The hotel does have a little convenience store and a couple of places to eat theat smelled divine but I chose to eat dinner in Byward Market.

A real find, this hotel! I will definately return.
Only small downside was the TV - 2 of them but with limited channels and they were not flat screens - however, there was a note that the rooms were undergoing refurbishment and the flat c\screens were on their way!! Hope they put on more channels and this property will not have a SINGLE downside.

Room Tip: Look up the rates on the Ottawa Tourist Board web

Excellent staff are the icing on the cake for this downtown hotel steps from Parliament Hill, Sparks Street and the Byward Market. Little Italy and Chinatown are a short 20 minute walk away. The staff make this great hotel great. Thanks to Danielle for the apples, Rhea for the helpful instructions, Taylor for the directions and friendly daily greeting, Bernadette for bringing grocery flyers from her home for us, Stephanie for confirming, dishsoap/ towels/a cot/wireless internet are provided free of charge, Jessica for the Fudgeos, and Mario for his quick delivery of extra maintenance supplies. We would not have known there was redecorating except for the skid of brand new pull-out couches being transported inside. The full kitchen helped us adhere to our dietary requirements. Two bathrooms for five guests were provided. The spacious two bedroom apartment for less than the cost of a hotel room one street over combined with coupons at the front desk allowed us to enjoy some extra treats during our Tulip Festival vacation. We will stay here again when we visit Ottawa!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the new pullout couch

The furniture was old and worn, although the bedding was up-to-date cotton duvet set. Both televisions were antiques and the television in the bedroom didn't work when we arrived. We had to wait until the next day for repair. The main light fixture in the kitchen has two-13watt bulbs which pretty much leave you working in the dark (there are no windows in the room). Upon entering the suite the first time, and every subsequent time, there was a strong chemical smell, perhaps from cleaning solutions? We had to keep the sliding doors open - which was inconvenient because our view was into an apartment building across the driveway from us.

All in all it felt pretty shabby and though the price was attractive, ($99CAD/night) I would rather we had spent an extra $20 or $30 a night for newer, cleaner accommodations.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the front of the hotel .

We have just spent 7 nights at this hotel and to be quite honest we couldn't fault it in any way. The size of the suite, with its own catering facilities, the large lounge area and bedrooms, the position for visiting the centre of Ottawa and its attractions, the friendly staff and cleanliness of it was superb. We would definitely choose to stay there if we should visit Ottawa again.

Room Tip: We had room 1020, quiet and a pleasant view.
