“Great, informative visit”

This was a great little stop in Ottawa. Very interesting with a great tour! No parking on site, but there is street parking nearby. It's a but cheaper on the week-ends as there are no coins minted on the week-end. We still found the tour interesting despite this.

“Go on a weekday if you can.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2014

Not many people working here on the weekend to see on the tour, basically you have your tour guide and some videos along the way.

Dont get me wrong the tour guides and staff at the store are great but if you want to see the machines, operators, and artists working you will have to visit during business hours Monday to Friday. The weekend tour is slightly cheaper though.

“Add it to your bucket list!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

Most enjoyable side trip I have done in a very long time. The information that is shared during the tour and the beautiful coins that are minted are well worth the $6 entry fee. Very difficult to leave without buying anything. It is something I always wanted to do, and the tour lived up to my expectation...and I'm fussy!! I got to hold a GOLD BRICK ($500,000.00), under the supervision of a well armed security guard.

My friend and I decided to go in for the tour after speaking with the security guard stationed outside. We were walking by (we were walking from Rideau Hall to the Market) when they said hello and as the conversation continued we discovered that the next tour was in a couple of minutes. It being a Sunday, there wasn't any production, however, that also means the tour is a little less expensive. We had a great tour guide! The tour is fun and informative. I think my favourite exhibit was the Vancouver Olympic Medals.

The gift shop has a nice variety of souvenirs, and a large gold bar that you can have your picture taken with.

“Good idea on a cold day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

This was a nice little tour on a cold day. At $11.25 for the family it was a bargain. Very informative tour and learned many interesting facts. Loved the olympic medal display!
