The gallery was amazing! It is very big so you'll need at least 2hrs to see everything. The security guards seem to keep to themselves but we did have one who talked to us in French and he was very nice! He had a bit of English but I had more French than he had English so it worked out! He told us where to go to see done really nice pieces, which we appreciated! It is absolutely beautiful inside between the architecture and art pieces, absolutely gorgeous!

We spend an afternoon there appreciating the artworks of Canadians. Only a few minutes walk from Parliament Hill, this is a place where everyone should visit whether you like art or not.

Walking distance from main hotels in downtown. Easy to navigate and see the main paintings in one he or more. Big spot for kids to play with art blocks and parents have a cafe.

Not that I've been to them all, but this world-class gallery has exceptional display and works of art that reflect not only the Canadian scene, but also some treasures from around the world.Become a member and get discounts in the museum and the restaurant. The restaurant is such a surprise as well. We always have lunch there. It's affordable (that's a surprise for a museum eating area) as well as quite good. Try to get there before tourist season gets too crazy (July-August).

We were struck by the beauty of this building from the outside. My kids loved the giant spider out front and the "lightning bolt" scultpure out back. They had a free coat check which helped with all our winter gear. The modern art area was open and they had a cool display of aerial photos. However, many of the other sections of the museum were closed off to visitors. We were disappointed that there wasn't that much to see.
