The canal is designated as a UNESCO's World Heritage Site, but there were no tourists as far as I could see. I heard that locals enjoyed skating there in winter, but there were no skaters, either. All I saw was some joggers along the banks on the freezing cold day.The locks area was picturesque with the background of snow-covered Parliament Hill and frozen Ottawa River.
