I recently went to this restaurant for a friends birthday party (13pl) and was disapointed with the food. Im a person that eats anything but when i go to a place that charges a bit more than your regular restaurant, i expect it to taste GOOD.

Service:
This place was very attentive and were good to server everyone in a timely manner so for that i give the 5*. The staff was frendly and could not ask for anything better.

FOOD:
Ok so this place specializes in southern foods and one would think they would be good at it. Jambalaya should be a no brainer but unfortunelty i will have to say it was bland and no flavor. It could have been the cook that night but this should never happen especialy when you are paying $25 for a plate. BP can give me a better tasting dish for a lot less and lets be honest, BP is not all that great.
As for the meat plates, the rest of the party were on the fench of it being ok to good. Again for what you are paying we should all be saying " this is the best meal we have had".

Drinks:
The drinks were good and priced regular.

Location:
Located in little italy and the restaurant is well decorated and looks beautiful. It does give you that sense of southern comfort!

Washrooms:
I cant speak for the ladies but the gentlemens room is way too small. They should have thought of this and believe me when i tell you this, its very awakward. If you have been then you will know what i mean.

Traveling often for business from province to province, I'm amazed how hidden on Preston street lies Big Easy's where I continually return for there Filet. It is like butter when you cut into it. And the price point compared to places like Toronto or Vancouver is theft for the quality and portion (It is better then Hy's and Harbour Sixty. The service is inviting, friendly and highly professional. If ever you have the opportunity I'd recommend sitting at the bar and enjoy one of the best bartenders I've ever experienced in Johnny. I always make an effort to visit when I'm in the city and I'm never disappointed

Cheers

Recently enjoyed a great dinner out at Big Easy on Preston in Ottawa with another couple Service by Owen was fun, and he was quite knowledgeable about the menu & his recommendations bang on. Caesar salad was fresh, with an olive tapenade on the side of bowl & lots of Italian cheese. Foie gras topping was very flavorful and a welcomed alternative to the usual steak sauces. Steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare) & my husband almost didn't need a knife to cut it. Lobster tail was cooked perfectly - however, the hot spice added to the lobster was way too spicy and an unexpected surprise. (which I told them they should adjust or warn about) but otherwise very tasty. We all agreed the seasonal veggies were cooked perfectly & furthermore steaming hot which was welcomed! Friends enjoyed the blackened salmon with crab & shrimp in lemon butter & the seared scallops. The mango sauce swirl with scallops was a nice touch. They offer a table d'hote for $45 with salad, surf & turf and dessert. As price goes, pretty consistent with other high end restaurants in Ottawa which isn't cheap if you have two bottles of wine, but a nice treat every once in a while. If they had some live music on the weekends might be a nice draw.

We were in Ottawa for a few days and checked out trip advisor recommendations for dinner.

We made reservations (a good idea on Friday night - it was busy!).

The food was very good. The tastiest Caesar salad, cheese platter and rolls, the fish was a bit greasy, steaks cooked to perfection... Overall, the food was just abundantly flavorful. Extremely satisfying.

The best part of our experience was our server, Owen. He was so friendly and kind to the kids, attentive and obliging.

I had a business dinner with two clients. The service was quiet good and food was priced well. For the price and food, i was surprised not at the cost of coffee($5.00), but the fact the refills were charged at the same rate. I was not impressed and although food and service was good, they wouldn't see me back
Cheers
