This was our first trip to this restaurant and we did not know what to expect. We had no idea it existed, we found out about it only last minute. We took our friend there for a birthday lunch and boy, was it amazing. We ordered several appetizers, all of them incredible. The service was excellent, and we loved the decor. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time, and I am so glad it is in Oshawa! No need to go all the way downtown anymore. Can't wait to go again! The only thing I was not crazy about was the clam chowder, however everything else was delicious.

After many disappointing meals at Shrimp under the old chef's horrible suace on everything regime, my wife and I returned after hearing there was a new chef in town....and boy is there!
His presentation on dishes is fantastic, the food almost looks to good to eat, it is well seasoned and perfectly cooked, ask for medium rare etc...and thats what you'll get. The fish is delicate and the way it should cooked also.
I strongly recommend the chefs table, book a week in advance and let Mike take you to flavour country! The staff are very pleasent and know the menu (minus the chefs table as that is done differently for each reservation) and wines well to help along with some difficult choices.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere!
We dine here on a regular basis.
Go enjoy!
P.S. If you like spice, try the chef's pineapple habanero hot sauce....

We visited on a Sunday for dinner, arriving without reservations. The greeting was friendly and was the prelude to what was a very pleasant evening. We began with appetizers, the signature shrimp cocktail, escargot, and pickled baby beet salad. All were beautifully presented and quite tasty with special praise reserved for the escargot. The Brancott Estate Sauvigon Blanc was an excellent accompaniment. The 3 dinners we tried were Arctic char, Chilean sea bass, and strip loin. Both fish dished were excellent. I found the sauce on the strip loin to be a little heavy for my liking. It did arrive rare, as ordered and the vegetable on all 3 plates were wonderful.
We tried 2 desserts, tartufo and creme brulee, both very good and topped things off with coffees.
With an extra cocktail and the obligatory taxes, the total bill was just over $200 before the tip.
One complaint which fortunately cured itself. As a former father of 2 and present grandfather of twin toddlers, this is not a place where they will be happy. Please take your 'entertainment' to a place where the placemat comes with crayons, and if you must dine in places like Shrimp Cocktail, bring something to amuse the little one including food. Once that arrived, she settled down, but really, such screaming can't be pleasant for anyone, never mind people who you don't know!

This restaurant is in plaza west of the downtown. It is a popular eating spot and pretty busy most of the time. They offer a variety of food on their menu but are noted for their pasta dishes. The smoked chicken and scallop dish is my favorite. The prices are of average for an upper restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice.
I love all the drop chandeliers around the restaurant. The bar is very nice and they do have a bar menu which is a plus.
It is romantic and the food is good.

You have to reserve the table two days in advance. When you and your party arrive, the chef comes out and chats with you about your likes, dislikes, etc.... then they go off and create your meal. the surprise and creations are amazing
