“Red Lobster Oshawa Ontario July visit”

Usually I really enjoy the food at Red Lobster but on this particular visit, I found some of the food much to salty. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food that was not salty was very good

“It's gone downhill...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

The service is good - waitress, bartender and hostess were all very nice, helpful and attentive but the food was awful. It's gone downhill in the past few years. The clam chowder soup was bland, the biscuits tasted like something was missing, all of seafood was overcooked, and the starters were cold. Honestly, I won't be going back here no matter how bad my seafood craving is.

“Average”

Host (Manny?) at front was so unpleasant we almost left the restaurant. We waited a long time given the restaurant was nearly empty (Saturday lunchtime). However, we had an excellent waitress and the food was fine.

We ordered a huge platter with lobster, shrimp, king crab, veggies & salad. The seafood was cooked properly, not too dry or too slimy. The food is relatively plain with sauces provided to add flavour (eg seafood sauce, melted butter). Although our dish seemed costly ($30 each), the food was so plentiful that we took half of our meal home and enjoyed it the next day.

“Good meal, few problems”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

We ate here after my niece's high school graduation. There were 8 of us. My sister had called the day before the make reservations (she didn't understand that most restaurants don't take reservations these days). We got there around 4:45 and they didn't have their reservation (surprise, surprise, because they don't take them). Whoever had answered the phone the day before didn't tell her that. I think there had been a misunderstanding that she was asking for the next day, not the current day call ahead seating. This didn't end up being a problem. After about 2 minutes of sitting in the lobby, they had our table ready for us.

We got seated and the waitress took our drink orders. We also ordered a few appetizers. At this point they assigned us 2 waitresses. We waited to put in order, and waited, and waited. One waitress came over and started to say I'll take your order, but they other one said not yet. Finally we had our orders taken, again not a huge problem.

We got our drinks, salads, and appetizers. Everything was great. Half of our meals came, the other half didn't. We didn't think anything about it. A person can only carry so many plates. A few minutes later the rest of the meals hadn't come yet. The waitresses came over and apologized over and over again. There had been some kind of computer glitch. The first half of us were done our meals by the time the second half finally got their meals.

The manager came over and apologized and said that she would take care of us. "Take care of us" meant our entire meal was on the house, except for the alcoholic drink one of us had. Again, she and the 2 waitresses apologized over and over again for the rest of the meal.

The food was great, the service was good. This restaurant is also pretty small. It's probably the smallest Red Lobster I've been to (and we travel a lot).

“Consistent seafood”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

The food is predictable and the fresh cheddar bay biscuits are great! I had a whole Maine lobster and it was tasty and satisfied my craving for lobster. My husband had a combo platter and it was good too. Our server was new and had to check on a couple of things like what sides came with the lobster dinner, but she was attentive and ensured our dining experience was pleasant.
