Ever wonder how the "other half" lives? Here's your chance to find out. Visit Parkwood Estate, the home of "Colonel Sam" MacLaughlin, President of GM Canada. Hidden passages, a bowling alley and a beautiful art gallery on the second floor. Don't miss a walk through the gardens!

I did not walk into the Parkwood Estate with high expectations as the from of the mansion appeared humble in size and decor, but do not let this deter you. I highly recommend a stop at the estate for anyone traveling in the area. The guides are extremely knowledgeable and well-trained. They share a multitude of fascinating facts and trivia about the property, making it appealing to people from all walks of life. Whether you are a movie buff, an inventor, have an appreciation for fine art, an architecture expert, or a historian, there is something here for you. How can you go wrong with a visit to the place where Billy Madison and X-Men were filmed and Ian Fleming found inspiration for the James Bond novels? Do yourself a favor, and schedule a visit to the Parkwood estate.

We went on this tour last year, and was amazed by how little I knew of the historic site that is less than 10 minutes away. The grounds are well kept, beautiful. The tour of the home interesting, informative, and sometimes even ''wow''. Worth the visit!
