The park is a great place to just sit around and take up the local atmosphere. On selected days all kinds of events are showcased. Great place to get a feel of Oshawa's people.

This is one of best done tributes to the Canadian veterans anywhere. There is a bandshell that hosts many live events during the summer. Rememberance day here is a major event . The murals and statues show the many contributions from the community.

As teens in a downtown Oshawa high school, we used to ALWAYS walk over to this park for lunch --- but that was some 50 years ago.

To-day, it seems to have been effectively taken-over by the homeless, the vagrants, & the drug abusers that all seem to habituate in the downtown area. In fact, I read someplace that a local reporter counted something like 140+ syringes & needles left on the ground after one particular weekend.

I guess it's true: you can NEVER go back home again...

Memorial Park is a lovely, treed park on the south side of downtown Oshawa. Great for a picnic. Concerts in the bandshell are usually quite good.

Once the sun sets, I wouldn't go near the place. Well known as a drug haven after dark.

This is a small park with a bandshell. In summer there is a lot of music played during the week here for people to enjoy. In November there is a Remembrance Day service held here. There is a cenotaph here in the memory of those that have served their country. The city of Oshawa hosts some events here too. You can come and sit hyperextended any day and enjoy the peacefulness.
