If you're on a budget, this is a good place to stay. It's old and the whole hotel could do with some touching up. Friendly staff, very clean room, comfortable beds and good price helped us overlook the small blemishes due to age.

We stayed here to go to the Dixie Chicks concert on Nov. 8, 2013. I was pleasantly surprised at the lobby, and the room was very clean. Cleo, the manager on duty, even arranged a late check-out for us even though the hotel was very busy with sports tournaments. We were disappointed that it was buffet only on Friday night. Also, why was the restaurant closed over lunch? Maybe we read the brochure wrong in the room, but it sounded like we could get a sit-down lunch in the restaurant. Also, take note that the hotel is in-between the VIA Rail station/GO Train station and the downtown core. It was a $15 cab to the station and to the arena, which might not be clear if you book and then look on Google Maps. Also, there's no coffeeshops or restaurants within walking distance, so if you're traveling without a car be prepared to cab a lot or eat at the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor (we were on the fifth floor). Not because of the view, but because it's muc...

Just stayed for one night on the recommendation of a co-worker. Arrived and was was greeted by a very personable Amanda. Check-in was easy and I was pleasantly surprised by the large room size. The bed was very comfortable and I felt at home. They are updating the rooms, but would recommend changing the curved shower bar as it interferes with the door given the small bathroom area. I later went downstairs to have dinner. I walked in and there was only one customer there. I watched the blonde waitress walk around as I stood at the doorway, unsure if I should sit myself. After being ignored, I left. I returned a half hour later, as I really did not want to order delivery. This time I sat myself and still had to wait quite awhile. I wouldn't have left a tip except the food was delicious. And the breakfast that was included was Excellent, as was the waitress (who, I was told, usually is the one on at night...and obviously should've been). But I did not let that poor service hinder the fact that the rest of my stay went very well. Thank You!

Our arrival was uneventful, but friendly. We ordered a cot for our son which we had forgotten to request and it arrived in our room within 20 minutes. The double beds were comfortable, but small. The furniture and wallpaper were fairly new, but had some dings from use. Overall it looked clean except for a long pen mark on our bed sheet. The bathroom door was delaminating on the inside, the shower curtain rod was loose and looked like it had been repaired poorly and there was a large rust streak in the sink that had been repaired poorly with enamel. The pool was nice, but needs to be repainted. You can still see the old Holiday Inn logo on the steps of the pool. The hot tub was comfortable without being too hot, but is older and looks rather old. We ate breakfast in the restaurant. The food was okay for a buffet, but the staff seems a bit frazzled and it took awhile to get seated and get drinks. We also noticed the tables weren't getting cleared often enough. Overall it was a decent stay for a 3 star hotel. I don't know that this hotel could ever be a 4 star without some extensive renovation.

I stayed here for work for just one night at the end of September. Check in was not smooth, we were 5 people and when we checked in the reception said that the rooms had not been paid for although it was being covered by a third party. We had been traveling all day and were pretty tired but were told we could not check in until the issue was resolved. The receptionist told us to come back in a couple of hours.

After driving around Oshawa for a bit we came back and everything was resolved. The receptionist was much friendlier this time around at least.

The rooms were clean, comfortable.

The hotel itself was busy with a lot of children. We had wanted to relax in the jacuzzi, but it was swarming with kids, so that was a no.

The next morning I awoke to a $160 charge from the bar. I promptly went to the front desk and this issue was resolved immediately which I was very grateful for.

Despite all the snags, this is a good place for a quick stopover, or business.

I had stayed here years ago, but have recommended it to many friends in the past. When I stayed here, it was a very clean hotel, but the rooms were rather small. It's average, price-wise, but definitely better than some in the area.

We stayed at this hotel fo 2 nights. The room was very clean when we entered. We had our room cleaned by jean or yeam very friendly when asked if she could replenish the brownies and another robe. We returned to have two packages of brownies and a fresh robe. The day of checkout we had no clean towels left for showers so we called down to desk. So within 5 minutes we had fresh towels and theu were even still warm from dryer. Cant beat that. The pool and hot tub were great. Only complaint we have is that our room key worked on and off that was a pain but over all great place to stay. Webhad executive king room lots of space
