“Cleanliness was never a problem, until this stay.”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions. There have been minor issues in the past, but cleanliness was never one of them, until this stay.

The room we checked into had body hairs, pubic hairs, dead skin and general “dirt” in the bottom of the bathtub, which was clearly visible just looking at the tub.

The front desk offered us a second room, as housekeeping had already left for the day.

The second room smelled so bad of body odour that we didn’t get past the doorway.

The third room offered had another grubby bathtub...no hair, but black grime clearly visible by just standing near the tub.

Rather than checking “what’s behind door #4” (another room) I asked for cleaning supplies and rubber gloves to clean the tub in “our” room. The manager on duty came to our room and cleaned the tub himself. He was very professional and willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. This hotel doesn’t deserve him.

Standards have been slipping and we have noticed fewer cars in the lot with each visit.

The Mississauga/Oakville area has wayyy too many hotels to choose from for us to have to stay there again!! Sorry Country Inn - Oakville, we won’t be back.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. Our hotel has always prided itself on cleanliness, service and value, and unfortunately, we did not deliver these three key items to you during your recent stay with us. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally to discuss your concerns in greater detail and to make the situation right. We don't ever want to lose a customer and would appreciate the opportunity to earn your trust again.

Sincerely,

Kevin Slean

So i never expect much from a budget hotel, however this one has exceeded my expectations easily.

We decided to book a one room for all 5 of us (yes you read that right - 5 in a room) so we could use the money on what we wanted to see and do. We were a little nervous that the room would be small on top of the normal budget quality, so were please when we arrived to find the booking had gone through as planned (two queen beds and a camper bed). The additional camper bed was $10 canadian dollars, and Mark on reception, was not only very friendly, he also helped us up stairs with our bags (NB. there is no lift, so if you have difficulty carrying your luggage upstairs, either be prepared to ask for help, or request a ground floor room - remember in the US and Canada Ground Floor is the first floor).

We then got plenty of help and advise on how to catch the train into Toronto and the difference in price between a train ticket and the cost of driving and parking, the train station (GO) is around a 10 minute drive and made the trip into Toronto (about 45 mins by train) easy and stress free.

Overall, the rooms were very clean (if not a slight bit dated on the decor), well turned out, AC in each room and the beds were comfortable and gave a good nights sleep (slightly less so for the camper bed as you would expect). There are also good quality blackout blinds at the window helping a jet-lagged traveler get sleep anytime of day, I was particularly pleased with the clean and tidy bathroom, normally my biggest challenge with budget price hotels.

The breakfast area was cosy (read small) for a hotel with around 120 rooms, I would have expected a larger breakfast area, however breakfast was included in the value for money price (again remember there were 5 of us, so even better value) and was a simple, fresh waffles, cereals, fruit and basic cooked (scarambled egg, sausage patty and potatoes) and toast/bagels etc, its self service so all you can eat style.

There is plenty of parking and the area felt very secure. There is a Wendys fast food next door making it easy if you arrive late and other supermarkets and eateries, and a cinema are the other side of the main junction ( you would drive there as there is little in the way of footpaths / sidewalks).

There is a gym downstairs which we didn't use. There is also free unlimited wifi throughout (about 3mb download speed), a hotel reading library where you can borrow a novel while your staying and a guest computer in the reception.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so if you struggle with your bags, ask for a ground floor room.

Easy to find hotel located right off exit. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast served its purpose (also liked the fact that they kept fresh fruit, cereal, coffee/tea out all the time). Front desk staff were friendly and went the extra mile to be helpful. The town of Oakville is very nice and has great restaurants. We used the Go system (train) to go into Toronto. Very easy and beats the parking hastles.

Good Hotel in a good location which is kind of hard to find for your gps but not impossible.
Nice large room with a very comfortable bed and enough water pressure in the bathroom.
Free breakfast and located right next to a tim horton's for coffee if you do not like hotel coffee.
Only a 30 minute drive to the very centre of Toronto.
I would stay here again!

We stayed at this hotel, because it was centrally located for our day trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls. Its location allows for easy access onto the QEW highway. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they even made change for the laundry (laundry room on site). Cooked breakfast and variety of items to choose from; my son liked the cookies for guests in the check in area. Easy to log onto the internet from our room and good connection. We stayed for 4 nights and housekeeping did a great job- we were four in our group so we appreciated returning to a crisp, clean room after a full day of sightseeing. The hotel itself was very quiet, I know there were guests in rooms next to us, but we never heard them. There are several good restaurants close by, but we also had a refrigerator and microwave in the room which was very convenient. Overall, this is a nice hotel, especially for the price, and I would definitely stay there again.

We were with a group touring 1000 Islands, Toronto and the Niagara Falls.
Probably the Tour organisers pay a low rate - so what we got was very decent.

We arrived Sunday late in the evening. The Staff was friendly and helpful. Good Internet connection allowed for skyping. Rooms are clean and nice. Quiet environment and inside the Hotel.

Breakfast OK but not more.

I was playing a baseball tournament over the weekend, so rather than drive back and forth for two days my boyfriend and I decided to stay in the area. He was able to use his club points to secure a reservation for two nights, which was wonderful!

When we arrived around 9:00 pm the hotel was fairly quiet which I was very happy about. Friday evenings in hotels can be a little rowdy no matter where you stay. Nancy at the front desk was very welcoming and happy to answer our questions. We were given a room on the first floor, which faced out towards the main entrance. The room was large for two people; the microwave and fridge were a nice bonus as I had forgot to look up the amenities before we arrived. The bathroom was a nice size, though like many hotels, there was no fan in the bathroom, which is always a pet peeve of mine.
We attended breakfast on Saturday morning before heading out for the day. The coffee was pretty yummy and there was a good variety of items to choose from considering it was is a smaller hotel. The food I tried, oatmeal, yogurt, Danish and bagel were all fresh and hot the spot.

After a long day in the sun playing around of a dusty ball field I was dying for a shower when we got back to the room. Again, the lack of a fan in the bathroom was a little annoying, though the light on the timer seemed to help clear up the steam a bit. The showerhead had different settings, which was very nice on my sore muscles, but I had to clean it before I used it. There was scum all over the showerhead, which I did not want to touch every time I changed the settings.

Only complaint though really was the key access on one of the outer doors. There is a cover over the box obviously meant to keep water and dust of off the card reader, but the cover makes it very difficult to put the key in properly. I had to attempt the door in upwards of 10 times whenever I needed to reenter the building. I know the key was not faulty, as I only had to swipe once to get into our room.

We would certainly stay here again.
