“Excellent rental property”
Reviewed October 31, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We had a great stay at Amberlea house. Found the renters website very detailed and property did not disappoint. The living and dining areas are a great space for your group to connect. Kerri was very quick with any answers to questions. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a NOTL rental

“Amazing stay at Amberlea House NOTL!”
Reviewed September 28, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

This home was perfect for us!! We were 5 couples on a 4 day/3 night NOTL getaway for cycling, wine tasting and touring the town. The location is amazing....close to everything. We did not drive at all. The home has 5 spacious bedrooms with large and comfortable dining and living room areas where we could all congregate. The kitchen is fully equipped and the home is immaculate. The backyard is beautiful. Despite being after pool season, we spent many hours on the back deck and ate our breakfasts each morning at the dining area by the pool. Just a beautiful relaxing getaway. The owners are amazing. We had an issue with the air conditioning and they had a repairman at our place within the hour. We will definitely re-book for next year!

“Perfect location, Amazing stay!”
Reviewed August 19, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Our family just spent a week at Amberlea House and we had an amazing time!
First, the location is great, especially since we like to walk when we are on vacation.....If you go to the end of the street (3 houses away) and turn right within 5-10 minutes you find yourself at Jackson Triggs Winery, The Old Winery Restaurant (great pizza!), The Garrison House pub and The Supper Market (on Wednesday night all kinds of gourmet food trucks)! If you turn left at the end of the street, a 10 minute walk takes you to Queen St, where the theatres and shops are.
The bike rental place is steps from the house.
We found Amberlea House perfect in every way for our family. We found the beds very comfortable which is always a worry when you are not at home.
We loved the pool! It was kept so clean and the yard is stunning. There is a deck from the kitchen that overlooks the pool. We would often have a drink up there and just take in the view.
Kerri and Angelo were great to work with and very helpful in planning our stay.
There is so much to see and do...we will definitely be back!

“Good location”

We visited friends in Canada from New Jersey. The house is spacious with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, nice sized living room and dining room. Kitchen was a bit small. We did enjoy the table and chairs and lounge chairs by the pool. The pool was a nice size, heated and clean. The ladders which accessed the pool were not easy to use. Either they were too close to the side or the angle was not correct. There is a grill which we did use to cook a meal. Location was good, close to Old Town and area attractions. We did enjoy our stay here. We had originally booked one of the other properties for a week but had to switch in February when a member of our group had a conflict. We were only rent the property for 6 nights because that was all that was available. Sadly, if it had been available for the 7th night, the price would have been the same. There were a few improvements that could have been made. In description, it said that beds had memory foam toppers. I think that the king bed may have had a topper but the other beds did not. I and others felt that the beds were too firm. One bath towel, one hand towel and one washcloth was provided for each available sleeping spot (10 total). It would have been nice to have a few spare towels. As women, we like a towel for our hair. There were no extra pillows either. I have found in my frequent travels that extra pillows are usually available. The house had a burnt wood smell which seemed to trigger allergies in several people. Perhaps the fire place needs a cleaning.

Thank you for your review about Amberlea House!
We were pleased to hear that you were happy with the location of the house and that the pool was clean and a good size. Keeping the pool sparkling during the summer months is a priority for us and our staff! I will be sure to pass that on to them.
The ladders are placed on a slight angle because the pool is a kidney shape with no straight edges. There is one in the shallow end and one in the deep end.
We wish you would have called us about the extra pillows. As stipulated on the rental agreement we ask that shams not be slept on and that extra pillows can be found in the closet of each bedroom.

We provide 10 sets of towels at Amberlea House....( a large bath towel, hand towel and face cloth per guest) which is customary. We also provide 10 pool towels. There are extra towels however, in the linen closet and we also have full laundry facilities if you wish to wash towels during your week stay.

Regarding the rates, you saved over $175 by paying the weekly rate as opposed to 6 nights X the nightly rate. It's too bad you had to change your reservation as you had the full week booked initially at our other home, Avalon. We only had these 6 nights open this summer at Amberlea House.
Thank you for letting us know about the natural Fireplace in the Living Room. We just had it cleaned in April as we do every Spring and will have to check into that. The one in the Master Bedroom is a Gas Fireplace.

Once again, thanks for your review and we are pleased that you had a good time and enjoyed the location!

“Perfect for Family vacation with Kids”
Reviewed July 13, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

We rented Amberlea house for a full week the first week of July 2017. Our party included 6 adults and 3 children under the age of 8. The house was the perfect size, and there was plenty of space for all of our needs. The living room was comfortable with a huge sectional where the kids and adults could lounge when we weren't hanging out by the pool. The pool area was fantastic with more than enough seating and eating space for everyone in our party. We used the outdoor dining table and chairs on the pool deck for most of our evening meals as the weather during our stay was beautiful. The pool itself was a good size and large enough for everyone to enjoy, and was kept at a comfortable temperature and was cleaned on a daily basis.

The location of the house is walking distance to the heritage district, which we did several times with a 2, 5 and 8 year old. There is a nice park with a small pool/fountain for the kids to play in. The heritage district contains lots of restaurants and shops, and the kids especially enjoyed the Cows ice cream. There is small waterfront beach near the golf course where the kids could play in the sand, but probably not suitable for swimming.

We also visited several nearby attractions on our trip to Niagara on the Lake, including Niagara Falls (15-20 Minute drive), The Wild Waterworks water park in Hamilton (30 Minute Drive), Fort George (5 minute drive), and the Niagara outlet malls (5-10 minute drive). In addition, there are numerous wineries in the area that you can visit by renting bikes which are right around the corner from the house.

Overall, the house was in the perfect location for our week long vacation. We spent the mornings going on adventures/excursions and the afternoons/evenings relaxing, eating and drinking by the pool. The house was clean, and well maintained, and provided all the necessities we needed. The only thing we had to provide was our groceries.

I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to do a family vacation in the Niagara on the Lake region.

“Would definitely recommend!”
Reviewed June 25, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We loved our week at Amberlea! We could walk to town, including for groceries. We could walk to a beautiful park on the lake. And the restaurants we visited were very nice. We even rented bicycles to tour the local wineries of which there are many.

The house was more than adequate for our family group, and we enjoyed the patio by the pool and the ability to cook out with the gas grill. The house was clean and well taken care of.

What a wonderful week!
