Sometimes you just want a little lunch, a place where you can take a break from your walkabout in Niagara on the Lake, and maybe just share a few menu items with some friends. Well that's what our family did this past weekend and it was the perfect solution for some hungry kiddies and adults too!
We sat outside on the terrace and we were fortunate to get a seat right away. We sat looking straight out at the breathtaking winery under a lovely covered seating area shielding us from the sun and making it most comfortable. Our two very young boys were more than welcomed by the staff and treated just as royally. They were even welcomed to play in the open green space if they so desired. I found this to be most hospitable for sometimes children struggle with having to sit patiently for their meal.
Our party of six elected to just order a few items to share and sample as we were only needing a light lunch. Looking back, I wish we would have ordered more as the value and flavors were worth every bite!
The signature burger was adored by my ten year old son, who would have eaten another I am sure. The pulled pork was beautiful as you could actually see the gorgeous meat and it was not drenched in sauce, but rather infused with great flavours topped with a peach chutney and melted oka cheese. The designer poutine, as I like to call it, was rock star quality! My eight year old son literally said: "Merry Christmas to Me!" as the server placed it in front of him. If you love cheese as much as I do then you really should entertain the idea of trying the cheese board. Feel free to ask for some extra bread if you feel there is not enough to go with it. That's what we did and the server was most generous to do so. The horseradish cheddar was dynamic!
If you are struggling on what to order in the line of beverages, just order the iced cuvee. This beautiful sparkling wine is made with hand picked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes with a touch of ice wine. It is so refreshing, flavoursome, and such a lovely social beverage. If you are to try just one thing at Peller, this would be what I suggest!
Peller Estates is such a special place to visit and has us wanting to go back for more!
