“Excellent in every respect”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2011

Had a beautiful dinner on the patio with family. Service was excellent. One member of our party had the 5-course Chef's menu while the rest of us ordered a la carte. We were all extremely impressed with the taste and appearance of our dishes. Some of the highlights included Fois Gras, Seasonal Tomato Sampler, Lamb and Partridge. The desserts were decadent and delicious. Naturally the wines were exceptional as well. It was definitely an expensive meal (thanks Dad!) but worth the price.

“Dont go here if you have food allergies”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2011

Went to celebrate my birthday at Peller Estates. Before we went, we spoke with manager regarding food allergies. Told they could accomodate me. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairings. I have dealy allergy to nuts and sensitivity to red wine. The bread arrived and it was pecan bread. Had to ask for more bread that was not nut based. They were completely unaware of cross contamination so I had to ask for more butter. After a delicios soup, the waiter brought a red wine ice to cleanse the palate. I once again explained my allerfies. The ice was taken away and no substitute was offerred.

The main had red wine drizzle all over. I asked and was told it proabably was OK. When I insisted , the server found that it was covered in red wine. Another dish was brough out but with sauce it was very boring and bland. No effort to make something without red wine. The dessert had almonds despite asking two swrvers to make sure it did not contain nuts.

When i went to the manager after we paid for the meal which was over 250.00$. Her atitude was that she was disappointed in her server. I asked what we could have done to avoid all of these problems she said speak to her first. I said We did. She just shrugged.

An extrmely expensive meal was ruined by lack of attention to allergies. My allergies have been axxomodated to all over the world. But at Peller estates, they would have muster some energy to care less. Do not go there if you food allergies...you are taking your life in your hands. Peller estates does not care.

“fun anniversary dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2011

we celebrated our anniversary with the 5 course dinner and wine pairing. it was a beautiful evening and got to dine out on the patio overlooking the vineyard. it was a leisurely dinner, for the service was a bit slow, but it did not matter, for we had nowhere else to be and it was all part of the ambiance. the wines were quite good and the staff very nice. although pricey, it is a once in a lifetime thing to do.

“FANTASTIC but can get expensive.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2011

I had booked a table at 2000 at the Peller Estates restaurant and enquired at the front desk of the Prince of Wales hotek if they could book a cab for me, they said that they ran a shuttle service to Peller Estates and would be happy to run us there and back free of charge (RESULT). We arrived about 30 minute early for our table as we had been told to leave 30-40 minutes in case the Shuttle was out, so we used the time to browse the retail section of the Winery. This was a mistake we should have gone and seen if we could have taken our table early! The staff offered us a complimentary taste of the Ice Wine cuvee (Champagne style with a splash of ice wine added) which was really nice.

When seated at our table it seemed rude not to order a bottle of the Ice Wine Cuvee, our server then brought us Oysters (compliments of the house) with strawberry and black pepper. We ordered as follows;
First course – 2 x Cold Pressed Icewine Foie Gras
Interlude – Chicarron Grilled Cheese on Pork Belly & Signature Lobster Linguini
Main course – 1 x Heritage Beef Strip Loin and 1 x 30 Hour Sous Vide Lamb Saddle
Dessert – 1 x Panna Cotta and 1 x Cheese Board
The food was excellent and the wine was even better. Whilst the beef was very well prepared I must say it was not the best piece of beef I ate whilst in Canada.
