During the 2012 Niagara Grape & Wine Festival, Reif was the most generous of the wineries. Under a "passport" program, participating wineries gave out food & wine samples to demonstrate food and wine pairings. Many of the wineries gave out disappointingly small samples of the food and wine. Not Reif. They gave out delicious barbecued sausages on carraway/rye buns. The sausages were not little sausage slices with a toothpick -- they were whole sausages 4-6 inches long and very delicious. Instead of pouring just a little splash of wine in the bottom of the glass, they poured at least 4 oz. of wine in each glass. Given that we were paying $5 per person per winery for these samples, the generous portions were appreciated. Of all of the wineries we toured that day, Reif treated its visitors the best by not trying to be cheap.
Kudos to the management team for taking this approach.
