Beautiful Inn with amazing view of vineyards. Our room exceeded our expectations! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were there to look after you, without constantly being in your space. We are already planning our winter getaway at the Riverbend Inn.

We spent a night at Riverbend Inn for our anniversary getaway.
When booking I asked for a quiet room with vineyards view and specified it was our anniversary.
In a similar occasion at “Giraffe” in New York they offered a vine bottle and chocolates and free-upgraded our room, so we were curious to see how it is going to be this time.
The inn is a beautiful mansion restored with care, decorated with prints in ornate frames, and an imposing chandelier in the lobby. We were offered each a free vine testing card, although they informed us that we just missed it! It runs from 11 to 4:30 pm, so we were advised to use the cards next day… Check out is at 11 also! Wine in the morning, no, thanks.
Our room was a “queen”, as booked, with balcony and view on the side lawn and partially on the vineyards. We noticed the balcony door lock did not work and the screen door was stuck.
The bathroom was big and somehow empty; I expected to find more luxury, marble and small details that could “lift” a room from ordinary to amazing.
We had an in room air-conditioning unit which was terribly noisy, so we tried to turn it off and open the balcony door, although the net was tattered at the bottom.
The restaurant at the inn has a beautiful terrace and we enjoyed a glorious sunset and a glass of chardonnay.
We had a good time, but we’ll try something else for next year.

I have discovered this charming Inn during a bike ride from Niagara Fall to Niagara-on-the Lake back in May 2011. We stopped, explored the property and chatted with the very friendly Receptionist. She was very instrumental in suggesting bike tours in the area and we booked a long weekend stay for August. We stayed in a corner unit that had view of the vineyard on both sides. The room was big and elegant, clean, the bed sheets made us feel pampered and the only complain we have is the bed mattress being too soft for our taste. The Muskoka chairs 'strategically' placed closer to vineyards allowed us to enjoy the sunset and the rich breakfast in this stunning setting.
We were charmed by this discovery and hope to return in October for some more bike riding, wine tasting and enjoying the vineyards in the autumn colours.

A little tip : if a private function in held don't be shy to use the Muskoka chairs :):) and share the space
Also : We would love to see a pool there

We stayed here for two evenings in July while on our two week roadtrip. It was absolutely charming. After our long drive and a view of the falls, we arrived early afternoon on Sunday. Wanting to just relax, we purchased a bottle of wine from the lounge and sat outside in the yard and enjoyed the view of Peller Estates. (The lounge has a beautiful antique bar) There are adirondack chairs with tables and a gazebo in the yard. The front desk was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants and spa service. We stayed in a Suite, which was fantastic. We had a private balcony that overlooked the Peller Estate Winery. One evening we just relaxed out there and enjoyed the view. Room was spacious and comfortable. After visiting Niagara on the Lake, we were very pleased with our choice of Riverbend Inn. The town is cute but it was nice to return in the evenings to a lovely retreat. We would definately return.

NOTL has a lot of overpriced accommodations. We stayed at the Riverbend for two nights and were very pleased. It is not in the old town but not far away. It is a lovely, small, period hotel which has been modernized. Our room (upgraded) was very large, very clean with nice furnishings. The bathroom was large and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Another benefit is it is next door to the Peller Winery where our favourite restaurant in NOTL is located.

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for a night away from the city (and the kids!). Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend the property.

On the positive side for us: the views from the dining patio out back, the quality of the food (we had an exceptional cheese plate with a local wine pairing and a great desert) and the Muskoka chairs in the backyard overlooking Pellar (a great place for a morning coffee and paper).

For the Inn to improve: room quality (we were in 211) in terms of comfort; with the bed specifically being very poor and the phone system which rang 3 times in the night and was blamed the next morning during checkout as the work of the "local ghost" by the reception clerk.

Honestly, $300 and a 4 star rating is a bit of a stretch but don't let that discourage you if you can get a better off peak rate. The staff is friendly and relaxed, nice but not the hyper-attentive service you would get in the big city. But remember...you are in NOTL, so dial it back, turn off the blackberry and take in the view with a glass of local wine.

In summary, it is still certainly worth a visit, just not at the price we paid.

This Inn is just 10 minutes from picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake.

A small inn with just 21 rooms and in the height of summer, reservations are a must. This newly renovated mansion has a fine dining restaurant with beautiful decor. There is also a lovely terrace at the back of the house.

The room we were in was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sofa and desk and TV.

It is a bit more money than I normally would spend but it is worth it for the comfort.

The staff are friendly and helpful.
