This was a great value! For $5 you get a fascinating tour, an insightful explanation of icewine, a brief overview of winetasting, and three sample wines including an icewine. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We are so glad we made the drive up. This was one of the highlights of our vacation in Canada.

“Yummy Ice Wines”
Reviewed October 3, 2009

We dropped by Inniskillin Winery in September to taste ice wines, but didn’t take any tours. Since it was a Friday the winery was pretty quiet, and we had a nice chat with the friendly wine-pourer who was a retired teacher. I have to say that the cost per taste for ice wine was higher than at other wineries we visited, but in contrast the pours were much larger (a full ounce, I think, as opposed to just a splash). Also the winery was offering one free ice wine tasting that day, and they kindly gave us a free tasting of their sparkling ice wine, which I wouldn’t have tried on my own and was really wonderful. We ended up receiving two free tastings and buying two tastings. I can’t complain about paying for tastings because ice wine is pretty expensive. Overall a great stop, and I only wish that the duty-free at Toronto airport carried their cabernet franc ice wine (also really delicious) along with their sparkling ice wine.

“Glad we didn't go here first”
Reviewed August 10, 2009

We thought we were saving the best winery for last- this place is supposed to be the best and original ice winery. The people were not very friendly, the tasting was quite pricy, and the ice wine wasn't very good. The atmosphere was cold, no pun intended.

“Super!!”
Reviewed September 1, 2008

We went on the Inniskillin Wine tour in late August 2008 and had a super time. Our tour guide (Mary Ellen) was excellent and made us all fell comfortable. The tour was very informative and the tasting at the end was really fun. If you go ask for Mary Ellen!!!

“Great Tour, Inexpensive Wine, and Beautiful Surroundings”
Reviewed July 23, 2008

Contrary to what the previous person posted, Inniskillin Wines provides a great tour and tasting in Niagara on the Lake in a beautiful setting. The tour costs $5 and it includes three free tastings of their wine (one red, one white, and one of the elusive and expensive ice wines). Also, the cost of the tour can be used as a coupon good towards a purchase of one of their wines in their gift shop/boutique. My wife and I bought two bottles of wine (chardonnay and riesling) and the total minus our coupons was only $13. The tour including the tastings lasts about 1 hour and takes you from the vineyard to the barrel room to the cellar. The tour guide was very informative into the winemaking process as well as the history of the winery. We did several winery tours and tastings while in Niagara on the Lake and this one was the best bargain and the best tour/tasting experience we had.
