Contrary to what the previous person posted, Inniskillin Wines provides a great tour and tasting in Niagara on the Lake in a beautiful setting. The tour costs $5 and it includes three free tastings of their wine (one red, one white, and one of the elusive and expensive ice wines). Also, the cost of the tour can be used as a coupon good towards a purchase of one of their wines in their gift shop/boutique. My wife and I bought two bottles of wine (chardonnay and riesling) and the total minus our coupons was only $13. The tour including the tastings lasts about 1 hour and takes you from the vineyard to the barrel room to the cellar. The tour guide was very informative into the winemaking process as well as the history of the winery. We did several winery tours and tastings while in Niagara on the Lake and this one was the best bargain and the best tour/tasting experience we had.

This was the first winery we visited in this area, and after having been to probably 200 wineries in over 10 states (and 3 countries), this was the first time I've ever had to PAY to taste the wine!

Cost was anywhere from $1-$4 (for "regular" wines), up to $5-$8 for ice wines. This was for a 1oz. sample. Doing the math, they make more selling samples than they do selling a whole bottle!

Even if you absolutely hate the wine, there's a few dollars wasted! This was exactly the case for us with 2 of the 6 we tried. Probably why we left without buying a bottle.

My wife and I also opted-out of the tour (you had to pay for this as well). Wine-making is wine-making - save your money and visit a winery close to home!

I have visited Inniskillin on four occassions. We enjoyed the vineyard and winery tours and the tastings. We have purchased wine and every visit and enjoyed it at our Florida home. The Ice Wine is a special treat.
