Treadwell – is a great place for dinner. We had a fabulous experience; everything was top notch, from the friendly greeting, to the help from 2 sommeliers, to the wait-staff, to the food and wine. We sat at the bar looking into the kitchen, a lot of fun watching the food being prepared and how the Chef de Cuisine oversaw everything, making sure everything was just right. The wine list is eclectic, including a nice offering of wines by the glass (or half-glass). Being new to the area we tasted two half-glasses of local sparkling wines with nice flavor and sparkle. Homemade bread with an interesting olive oil presentation with baco noir vinaigrette at the bottom. We shared a wonderful Tempura of Local Zucchini Blossoms with a nice Sambal Mayonnaise having just the right amount of spice. The Mains were also delicious, Seared Lake Huron Whitefish with Housemad Sausage, Sweet Corn Veloute and Lobster Fritters; the other the Confit of Lamb Shoulder with Eggplant, Summer Zucchini and Feta Vinaigrette. We sampled several local wines selected by James Treadwell, co-owner and sommelier, a wonderful line-up showcasing some fine wines from the Niagra area. We finished by sharing strawberries with meringue “cookies” and cream, paired with local beer (yes, that really worked). We only wished that Treadwell were closer to us, so we could return…we think it’s “world class”.
