Our stay couldn't have been better. We've stayed at beautiful properties before, many of them 4 star...this property exceeded all of them. It should be a five-star hotel. From the moment we walked in the front door until we left, we were treated like royalty...escorted to our beautiful room that had the music softly playing already, cookies waiting for us as well as stationery with our name printed on it. We were offered (and received) transport to and from dinner even though it was only a few blocks away. The free breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of cold and warm selections. The server was personable and efficient, giving us great tips on places to visit. Beds were wonderfully comfortable, and the fireplace just added to the wonderful ambiance. Most importantly, the room and bathroom wer spotlessly clean, and the turn-down service was a nice touch (a piece of chocolate on the pillow would have made it even nicer) . We will definitely be going back! I've been to the Pillar and Post and Queen's Landing at previous visits, and this hotel far surpasses both of them in service, ambiance, and comfort.

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the Harbour House and we really enjoyed the beautiful room, delicious breakfast, as well as the pick-up/delivery service provided for the dinner at the Charles Inn which was included for the off-season. The home made cookies always available, and the pitcher of water were a special touch. The Morris' of Toronto.

What a find! We were 2 friends headed away for a girls' weekend. This inn is not only a sumptuous romantic getaway, but it is also a wonderful place to meet with friends... in fact it's a natural gathering place where you can enjoy a glass of wine or the included breakfast with friends.

HH is located on the north-east end of town almost on the water. It overlooks the marina and is steps away from historic Fort George. The main strip of shops is only 2-3 blocks away and an easy walk. Walking anywhere in town is easy - but they do provide a shuttle.

The service at the front desk and – well - everywhere is exceptional! It is friendly, casual and welcoming ... and carried genuine warmth. There is a daily wine tasting of local wines in the lobby seating area from 4-5:30 daily. Nice touch! And should you want a movie night in… just borrow some DVDs from the front desk (complimentary). And hurray… its all non-smoking… the only down side is that they do actually allow pets on site (two rooms). Check in is approx 3pm and check out is 11am… oh and its free convenient parking.

Upon arrival we took a tour of the room and loved it! Room 207 is not overly large, but has a perfect set up. Comfort in every regard: a temperature controlled fireplace, lit closet, robes, wine table for serving, hypo-allergic feather-top bed, Jacuzzi tub, and lots of counter space.

After a night on the uber-comfortable bed, grab the daily paper and weather report and indulge in breakfast served in the sun-lit conservatory. It is served each morning from 8-10. We enjoyed the smoked salmon on bagels, mini-pastries and the frittata.

Just to let you know.. its lovely off season. You can enjoy the colours of the fall... and I'd love to try the serenity of the winter. See if you can catch some off-season rates. I'll be back!

My wife and I have been attending the Shaw Festival for over twelve years--always staying a week in the same, very nice rented home. This year we decided to try staying for eight days in a suite at the Harbour House Hotel. We expected the change would involve giving up some of the things we enjoyed about staying in a home. Not at all. We had all the privacy we wanted coupled with all the services of a great hotel. The breakfasts were outstanding and had a wide enough selection that both of us could find plenty that fit our very idiosyncratic diets. Even the coffee was first class. The suite was spotless, the bed great. When I off-handedly mentioned to the front desk that the lighting was a little dim for reading, I was pleasantly surprised upon returning to the room that three new lamps had been added. All of that and a well-trained, kind and solicitous staff.

This small inn has all the right personal touches to make it a special home away from home. Each room has a lovely decor (including a fireplace), the service is superb, and the breakfast is delightful. We've been back three times, and it's always a perfectly relaxing stay.

We just went back to Harbour House to celebrate our 1st anniversary..the same hotel where we were married in last year. We absolutely adore this place! Everything about it is wonderful - the rooms, the location, the breakfast, the luxurious beds...but especially the staff! They go out of their way to make you feel special, and they are all very genuine, nice people. We can't wait to return - we would live here if we could! :o)

BTW - Don't miss dinner at the Charles Inn - you won't be disappointed!
