We had often said we would visit Fort George, and finally made it there. We loved everything about it. It was clean, the staff very knowledgeable, and friendly. We got there just in time for a talk about the war. Lots we didn't know, so that was very interesting. Then it was time for the demonstration of the firing of the muskets. Into the cook house for a sample of cookies baked over the fire. Then the fife and drum, wonderful! We enjoyed just walking around the grounds, realizing the importance of this fort. Oh yes, some time spent in the gift shop, of course. It was a couple of hours well spent, and we won't wait so long until we do it again.
