The replicated fort was fun to see. The information about the war between the British and the American in 1812 brought the history lessons to life. I learned much I didn't know -- from the Canadians' perspective.

We finally made it to Fort George. Joel and Pete were the two guides we encountered. Both gentleman were well informed, humorous in their talks. I had the opportunity to talk with each outside their talks to the group and found it most informative, giving us reading recommendations on the subject of the War of 1812. I enjoyed my time there and would visit Fort George again.

Nice casual few hours. Staff in period costunes were well informed, helpfull and answered all questions. The Musket Demo by Peter was the best! He combined humor and knowledge seamlessly.

This was a great historic fort. The gift shop has lots of goodies to buy. You are greeted with soldiers dressed the period. In the buildings, you are greeted by costume, well informed staff in offering insights into the history and life of the garrison 200 years ago. The band and flag rising ceremony was spectacular. Well worth the visit.

They had a film on the War of 1812 which they showed on the barricks in the Fort! The show was rather "hokey" (locally done) but it certainly depicted the historical moments in history! This was done for the bicentennial of the war of 1812. The fort itself is very well maintained. They do a reinactment of the War of 1812 on the first of July! It is great that we have such a great historical site in our little town!
