The set-up of this place was a little confusing, maybe just because it was busy when we were there. You sign in at the location, get a little run-down of the process, and then get kitted out in lifejackets and rain coats. Do yourself a favour and just dress to get wet - go in a bathing suit and flipflops only if you can get away with it. if you have contact lenses wear them instead of your glasses.
The boat ride itself is very fun, but very jarring and even slightly terrifying - you will be hit by waves of water, and you need to be able to breath out when they hit and not panic. I didn't bring my kids, and I'm not sure as a mom I would have wanted to - it does feel like they could have been washed out the side!!!
The interpretive guide was a weird mixture of bro and well-learned historian that seems common in the area.
