My husband and I have a yearly post Christmas tradition of spending a couple nights at one of the Vintage hotel properties in Niagara on the Lake. In the past it has always been the Pillar and Post or The Prince of Wales but this year our budget was a bit more limited so we decided to give the Vintage boutique property a try...and it was a very pleasant surprise! From the moment we arrived we felt like welcome and appreciated guests. Athena at the front desk is friendly, helpful and a fantastic Vintage property representative....a gem to speak to and also very informative on restaurants in the area.
Our room was a Deluxe on the second floor, room 132 to be exact. It was roomier than expected after reading reviews prior to our arrival. The only things we found missing from any other Vintage property was bath robes in the room, room service, spa facilities and an on site bar/restaurant....there is a restaurant but it is closed in the winter. It is considered a budget hotel but honestly we didn't get that feel. We paid the same we would have for a motel type room in Niagara Falls!
As well, keep in mind that with stay, you have access to the facilities (restaurant, spa, pool, hotub) at the other Vintage properties in town and they are accessible by free shuttle just a few steps away.
Truly a great experience! No complaints.

Room Tip: The rooms are small so I would suggest booking Deluxe or above for more room.

We stayed at the Moffat Inn the weekend of December 13-15 2013. Nicki, the receptionist, was welcoming and so very helpful. We were able to check in early. Our room was cozy (small) with a gas fireplace which was lovely. The room was tidy/clean. Bathroom was modern. Closet was very tiny. Due to bad weather we needed to book a second room for family and Nicki came to the rescue. So everything about the Moffatt inn was perfect for us. Price, location, staff and their advice and the uniqueness of this building built in the 1800s.
We used the pool at the Prince of Wales. Pool is on main floor, change room in basement and the change room is not planned well for wet swimmers. It seemed to cater more to the spa people.

Great little place right on the main thoroughfare. Rooms were very clean, staff was really, really nice, and the stay was excellent. The Pub in the Inn was closed as it was off-season when we went (December). If handicapped accessibility is an issue, inquire in advance. Not an issue for us, but our bathroom did have a step in it, and the only way to our room was stairway. We had a great get-away!!

We stayed at The Moffat Inn in mid-November for a lovely weekend getaway. Athena, the lovely woman who greeted us was both knowledgeable about the area and very kind with her advice. The price was what drove us to choose the Moffat Inn, as other places around were significantly more expensive. Located on the main street, The Moffat is an ideal place to go if you plan on shopping and walking around the picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The room was plain, and a bit outdated, but the whole Inn had an historic feel to it. The room was clean and it had the basics of amenities available. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive getaway.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights, the hotel staff were just eager to help you and are very friendly, the room itself was small but adequate for our needs although frankly the whole place needed a bit of updating. In the morning when we left I noticed biscuit crumbs on the carpeted stairs which didn't think much of it and thought that cleaners will take care of that but after we coming back to our room after a very long day we noticed that our bedroom door was open so we panicked and thankfully nothing was taken, he bed was halfheartedly made, bins weren't cleaned and loads of midges in the room so we went and complained to the manager and I even noted that whatever on the carpet wasn't even cleaned - the manager was very nice and he straight away called the head of cleaning team and thanked us for the feedback - I just felt this was just unacceptable especially since the rooms are not exactly cheap!
