Sleek, modern winery in sustainable style, right on niagara stone road as you come into NotL.
Friendly staff, good wines. Their signature wines are their blend (aptly named Red and White). Well-curated cookbook section for foodies. They have crayons and activity sheets for kids to keep the wine tasting kid- free. Not cheap as they are position as super-premium

Thank Oliver J

My wife and I stopped here on an impromptu visit to a few wineries in NOTL. We had heard good things and would like to confirm that they're true! On arriving, we were greeted at the door by a very charming and friendly woman who welcomed us. Admittedly, it was like we were walking into a modern art museum - building itself is very cool! We were shown to where the tasting area was where one of the Stratus folks walked us through a tasting of four of their wines. She was awesome! Very friendly, knowledgable about the vineyard, the other local stories, the climate, etc. everything you'd want to hear from an employee at a vineyard. A ton of fun and we had our first go at an ice wine. I would put this higher up on the list of things to do at NOTL. Very fun experience and the place is one of the few LEED certified wineries in North America - for you eco-concsious winos, this is should be on your hit list if isn't already!!

Recommended by a taster at another winery, we loved this place. Very contemporary tasting bar with glasses appropriate for the wines, which were very interesting. Our taster was fabulous, a retired businessman who loved his job, he made it special.
The winemaker is adventurous and creative. You won't find some of these anywhere else in the area. If they could ship to the States, we would definitely join their wine club!

As a part-time NOTL resident, we usual visit the wineries for the tastings and tours, however, on this special occasion, my brother's wedding, we were fortunate to experience a wonderful wedding reception at Stratus Vineyards.
First off, the building itself is modern and sleek. Stratus is known for being environmentally responsible and has incorporated recycled materials in their structure and their outdoor landscaping has native plants and flowers. It is a beautiful facility inside and out. The retail tasting room closes down from day time operation and transforms into a lovely setting for private functions. We were greeted by friendly staff and enjoyed Stratus 2010 Gewurztraminer and their 2008 Tollgate red along with tasty appetizers while admiring the the wine selections on their sleek and soaring wine shelves. The outside terrace is warm and inviting with a gas fireplace overlooking their vineyards. Guests were offered a tour of the facility before dinner. For dinner, guests were lead into the Press Alley. Upon entering, you were greeted by a long table for 100 guests so elegantly set with lovely white flowers, linens and wine glasses amongst the stainless tanks and oak barrel and a wall of candlelight - Absolutely Breathtaking, stunning, elegant and sophisticated - a perfect picture right out a magazine. The dinner was outstanding, five stars, provided by Treadwell- Farm to Table-chef/owner Stephen Treadwell provided us with a delicious meal from locally farmed and grown produce within a 30-mile radius of Stratus. With each course a Stratus staff member gave a brief description of the wine pairing. We enjoyed their 2012 Riesling, 2009 White and finished with 2008 Cabernet Franc. After dinner guests enjoyed the venue. Into the evening a lovely sweet and savory table with two tabletop gas flames were set up in their Vineyard Tasting room overlooking the vineyards and barrel cellar. Guests also enjoyed Oast house barn raiser and summer ipa (Oast microbrewery is located next door to Stratus) Later in the evening we were treated to a fireworks display, even though it rained, staff provided us with umbrellas and we enjoyed the show while sipping on a special Stratus icewine martini. The Stratus coordinator, food and drink staff were all outstanding and accommodating to everyone's needs. They went above and beyond to provide us with a memorable experience for my brother's wedding from start to finish. Stratus would be the choice for a classy function in a beautiful and peaceful rural setting. Cheers!
