“Love this very old inn......good pub style food too.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

Quaint little inn in Niagara On The Lake. We have stayed there a couple times too....very nice. We usually get an Angel Inn Draft with a Reuben sandwich....fries are delicious too. Do not get the scallops smothered in barbeque sauce though....my only complaint. The ambiance is nice although they could do without the TV's and the electronic message board telling us how many days until St. Patrick's Day.....takes away from the ambiance of Niagara On The Lakes oldest pub. Other than having to ignore those couple things, quite enjoyable.

“What a Mistake”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013 via mobile

I read about this place on Trip Advisor and gave it a shot. Bad choice. It's noisy, though the dining room is better than the bar. Our food took forever to come out while we watched the people around us who came in after us get served. First the server said it was because my wife ordered an appetizer as her dinner, that confused the kitchen. Then she said it was because chicken cordon bleu takes longer to cook (huh?) and then she said it was because she was new there. Whatever. We never got a straight answer and she said the manager told her to take 20% off the bill but the manager never gave us the courtesy of coming over and apologizing or explaining what happened. Poor customer service. And the chicken was dry and overcooked, like maybe it had been sitting in a warmer in the kitchen while our order was being forgotten? The only thing that came quickly was the bill. I'm sorry we went to this place. it was a real mistake.

“Very English - with Canadian Charm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

The Angel Inn is definitely worth a visit - it feels like a quaint English Village Inn,has a great range of beers and served good food.
In addition to the excellent beer, my freind and I both had the 'home-made' Shepards Pie - full of high quality mince and certainly not overwhelmed with too much potato.
A great lunch spot.

“Impressive service, quaint pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

We were amazed with the service - the servers work as a team in taking care of tables. If we asked for something, it appears within seconds. The food - the fish and chips were excellent, and the stuffed mushrooms (appetizer) were delicious. The prime rib, not so much, nor the chicken and peach pie. But the service was so good, it make up for the dishes that were not up to par.

The Angel Inn is a "must" for any visit to NOL. The setting is unique and the food is authentic British pub fare.
