Owner description: Andrew Peller was one of the founding fathers of Ontario wine; today his namesake winery remains a family-owned enterprise - focused around the grand winery, showpiece barrel cellar and gracious Peller Estates Winery Restaurant (helmed by Chef Jason Parsons). Food and wine pairing themes are mainstays in the chock-full seminar and event calendar. Peller Estates' full range of Private Reserve whites, reds and sweet wines by Winemaker Katie Dickieson are always rich and approachable, while the Signature Series features age-worthy reds, award-winning Icewines and the unique Ice Cuvée sparklers, sweetened with a touch of Icewine.

“Treated with contempt, and poor service, not worth visiting.”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

A friend and I visited Peller aiming to have dinner and do some wine tasting. Upon attempting to get service to begin tastings we were treated with disdain and contempt. Both of us appear young, and perhaps not their regular clientele age range, but we were treated as if we were going to run out on the bill, and provided little to zero service or information on the wines selected. When putting our name down for a table in the restaurant, the hostess clarified the menu and price range before seating us, as if we couldn't afford it and just ignorantly ambled in. I've never felt so unwelcome in my life. Both of us have extensive knowledge of wine and had bought cases at every previous winery we visited that day, but it was very apparent Peller did not think we were valid customers. What could have been an opportunity to create lifelong fans, turned into this negative review and a lot of friends informed of their snobbish attitude.

“Wonderful afternoon - wine, food and a little spoiling”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Visited the Peller Estates Winery this past weekend with some friends. We had a delightful time - small plates lunch and deliciously chilled and flavorful Riesling. We enjoyed lunch on the terrace overlooking part of the vineyard, the courtyard and the beautiful fountain. Great selection of well-prepared "small plate" items. Service was attentive without being troublesome. Very elegant setting.

After lunch, we wandered through the tasting area and delighted in a broad selection of Peller wines - from the standard Merlots, Chardonnays, and Cabs, to late harvest, ice wines and sparkling selections. The employees were professional, personable ... and Carolyn the Cashier made us feel like part of the Peller family. Brought several bottles of their delicious wines home, though I'm sure they won't taste the same as the view from where I'll be drinking them is not the same! Will definitely be looking for their products in my local store.

“wonderful experience”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

This was my first time visiting a winery and I really enjoyed it. I went as part of a tour group and it is a beautiful place to see . We visited the vine grounds and learned about the company and growing and harvesting processes. We then went to the cellar for a fun and very informative wine and cheese taste. We learned how to test/sample wine and pair it with particular foods. We had a sample of white paired with a brie cheese, red paired with a 5yr old cheddar and white ice wine paired with a blue cheese- I enjoyed them all! I'm not fond of reds but it was amazing how different it tasted paired with the right cheese. We received a coupon to use towards a bottle of wine and it was tough trying to decide what to use it on but I decided to use it on a bottle of Cabernet Franc Icewine.
It's interesting to note that the smaller estate wines are not available through the LCBO because they don't produce enough to qualify them to be carried in the stores so that is why you won't find them in your local store. There is also a restaurant which specializes in using mostly locally available ingredients depending on what is available seasonally- I didn't have the opportunity to try it but it would be another reason to go back to visit along with buying more of their wine - lol

“Great Wines, Great Experiences”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Many of our friends and family who visit us are not aware of some of the great wines coming out of the Niagara Region. Peller Estate Winery has some of the best wines in the region ranging from sparking to light whites and from mild reds to full bodied reds. All can be tasted at the various experiences they offer where you can sample wines along with Chocolate, with food and a programme that helps us novices learn about decanting.
In their tasting room staff help you to enjoy wines along with explanations of the making processes. Some staff are more experienced than others but all offer help and suggestions. Our friends from Europe were amazed at the quality and variety of Canadian wines.
